I am opening this, because I haven't been out of SA either. Did visit UK for a week but I had so much talking to do (sister-in-law married a redneck) that I saw almost nothing of the coutry.
SA is a very diverse place with a colorful and rich people. We have 11 official languages, and then there are some that was to small to include.
We also have some that have blown over from Europe and such, but were not included in the officials, obviously.
This is our public holidays:
http://www.info.gov.za/aboutsa/holidays.htmWe have deserts, mountains, forests, wetlands, valleys and the longest shoreline. Find some photos here :
http://www.photonetwork.co.za/Our food and clothing is just as diverse as our languages.

We have the best place to look at sunsets and sunrises on earth. IMHO.
And God is sending rain. What a blessing it is to live and work here.
