THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes; but the plural of ox became
 oxen not oxes.
One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese, yet the plural of moose
 should never be meese.
You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice; yet the plural of house
is
 houses, not hice.
If the plural of man is always called men, why shouldn't the plural of pan
 be called pen?
If I spoke of my foot and show you my feet, and I give you a boot, would a
 pair be called beet?
If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth, why shouldn't the plural of
 booth be called beeth?
Then one may be that, and three would be those, yet hat in the plural would
never be hose, and the plural of cat is cats, not cose.
We speak of a brother and also of brethren, but though we say mother, we
 never say methren.
Then the masculine pronouns are he, his, and him, but imagine the feminine,
 she, shis and shim.
If you have a rough cough, climbing can be tough when going through the
 bough on a tree!

6 ) The soldier decided to desert his dessert, in the desert.
7 ) Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to

8 ) At the Army base, a bass was painted on the head of a bass drum.
9 ) When shot at, the dove, dove into the bushes.
10 ) I did not object, to the object.
11 ) The insurance was invalid, for the invalid.
12 ) There was a row among the oarsmen, about how to row.
13 ) They were too close to the door to close it.
14 ) The buck does funny things, when the does are present.
15 ) A seamstress and a sewer, fell down into a sewer line.
16 ) To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow, to sow.
17 ) The wind was too strong, to wind the sail.
18 ) After a number of Novocain injections, my jaw got number.
19 ) Upon seeing the tear in the painting, I shed a tear.
20 ) I had to subject the subject, to a series of tests.
21 ) How can I intimate this to my most intimate friend?
22 ) I spent last evening, evening out a pile of dirt.

Quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't
groce

Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends, but not one amend?
If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them,
 What do you call it?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house
can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out
and in which an alarm goes off by going on.

I'm now confused how about you?   Undecided

challenged,
uncomfortable at times,
using the same seat each time, or can't cope with the differences in style, music, prayer, niosy children.

Go where your ears will be tickled & you feel so comfortable you fall to sleep each time you go there. or where the pain in your back isn't age related but the hardness of the seats. Smiley

but  don't go from body to church to fellowship looking for the ''right'' place for you BECAUSE you will not be still enough for God to speak into your life. Please.!!! Wink

''It was for freedom that Christ has set us free------''

That freedom was won on the cross in that awful way, that we might remember & realise that in Him we have been freed from ALL the designs of satan.
We can walk free in praise & worship, in fellowship/relationship, reading the ''word'', in prayer, etc etc totally released from all of our self because we are now in Christ & His Holy Spirit is our strength.

Could this be the way that God might Glorify his word in ytimes of stress & pursecution in the future.I wonder ------->
will we be able to rely on the Christ in us, the word in us, the word we have heard &

which over the time has been confirmed in our being.  When there are no bibles & we are back to ''word

of mouth''.

Or are you saying ''Let go & let God''   if so why were we ''called''

The Moral Minority.
The government doesn't think twice about offending Christian beliefs, but spends millions of pounds accommodating the views of minority extremists.
Now a group representing thousends of black British Christians has complained that the'' Labour government is discriminating against Christians in order to appease minority groups''. The group claims the new Sexual Orientation Regulations will force it to ''promote views & values that are contrary to those which have been the centre of protecting & promoting British families, schools & communities for centuries''.
It's a strange world, isn't it, where only a minority black Christian group can articulate what many white Christians feel but are unable to say for fear of being branded small-minded bigots?.

God's Word will never fail, because He tells us so........

Hebrews 13:5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down ( relax My hold on you)! [ Assuredly not!]

1 Peter 4:19 Therefore, those who are ill-treated and suffer in accordance with God's will must do right and commit their souls [in charge as a deposit] to the One Who created [them] and will never fail [them].

><>  ><>  ><>  Thats it a bit of down to earth reality.
Christ in us the hope of Glory. His word is our life source, our strength.

I believe that when two or more are together that there He dwells.  have not remembered many total verses as some have but I'm assured that amongst us the Word dwell & we would have the whole Word between us if all the many types of bible were taken from us & destroyed.
As you say satan has tried to do this through the ages, but each time he brings his hand down hard on Gods body, it's just like slapping a water spillage. he has helped the church to spread wider & wider throughout the world, droplet going every whichway.

We have been told that the word of God will not fail. Even if all Bibles are destroyed (which I don't believe will happen), God's word will prevail.
