1  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Chariots of Fire on: August 02, 2005, 08:26:44 PM
Quote
Thanks my friend. These are descriptions of flying vehicles of some kind - UFO's if you will. I guess the question is, will Jesus take us out in a UFO during the rapture. After all, that is how Elijah went home. In this context his/her post is begining to make some sense.

I highly doubt that God will send UFO's to take us away from this earth. He used the chariot of fire to open the eyes of Elisha and to strengthen his faith and let him know that He was with him and that through Him he could do it on his own. I'm more of the mind that He will take us the way he did Enoch.

Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away (Genesis 5:24)
2  Theology / General Theology / Re:How are we saved? on: August 02, 2005, 08:16:02 PM

Can we therefore, be saved by simply believing or proclaiming that Jesus is God if our life is not of His?

The answer to that personally is a resounding NO. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:Cool

So to be saved we must not only give our lives to God but also allow him to work through us and show that he is Lord of our lives.
3  Entertainment / Sports / Re:ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!?!?!?! on: July 22, 2005, 08:12:41 PM

4  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / 200 Million Horsemen army on: July 21, 2005, 04:54:30 AM
I've been in a major debate with some people on another site and they all seem to think that the 200 million horses and riders from Rev 9 are from China. I believe that they are demonic horsemen and I was just wondering what everyone else thought.
5  Entertainment / Sports / Re:Baseball or take me out to the ball game.... on: July 19, 2005, 04:22:41 AM
Has anyone else noticed that the "best" player in baseball has never won a championship? Think about it.

Of course Brandon Inge hasn't won a championship yet. Just wait until next year. And for those of you who don't know who Inge is he's the everyday 3rd baseman for the Tigers who can and has played almost every position other then pitcher last year.  Just a phenom.

Old (1990 and before)
Petra, Degarmo & Key, Sweet Comfort Band, Bloodgood, Guardian, Holy Soldier, Mastedon, Rage Of Angels, Stryper, Tourniquet, Steve Taylor, White Heart, White Cross, X-Sinner and David Zaffiro.

New (1991 and after)

Showing my age here, but....PETRA!

No would be really showing your age if your first record (yes a record) was More Power To Ya.  Awwwwwwwww those were the days.

12  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:The Stinging Locusts on: July 18, 2005, 01:45:46 AM
Quite possibly a prelude to their stinging weapon spoken about in Revelations.

1 The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss.
2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.
3 And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth.
4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
5 They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man.
6 During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.
7 The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces.
8 Their hair was like women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth.
9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle.
10 They had tails and stings like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months.
11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.

The locusts that are mentioned are just that demonic locust.  The thing that i've tended to notice is that people try to put a human spin on things that will happen in the Tribulation instead of taking the Bible at it's word instead of trying to read things into it.
