46  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:How did you get your screen name? on: August 08, 2005, 07:07:50 AM
Well, my name came from my prayer to God.
I pray daily that all that I do, all that I say, everywhere I go, will show that He is in my live. In this way HE gets all the GLORY. If it were not for Him, I would be lost, lonely and on the way to damnation.
I dream to hear these words from His mouth:

Job 42:7   ...for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
Job 42:8  ...my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

I wish to speak that which is right, like Job. Wink

My favourite is:

Psa 16:5  The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
Psa 16:6  The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
Psa 16:7  I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
Psa 16:8  I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Psa 16:9  Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
Psa 16:10  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Psa 16:11  Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Amen & hallelujah

Me again.... Cheesy

Why do RC churches have images of Jesus Christ on the cross?

Exo 20:4  Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Deu 4:23  Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.
Deu 4:24  For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

I could never understand this. The Jesus Christ I know is alive and well and living with His Father in heaven. He is not nailed to a cross.
He has died,
He has risen,
He is alive.
Amen

There are lots of reasons that I'm not a RC. One of the most important to me is that everytime the communion is done, the priest\father prays that Christ must come down from heaven and die for the sins of the congregation.
This means that RC do not believe that what was done on the cross by Jesus Christ was finished, or enough.

Joh 19:30  When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Act 13:29  And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.

I think that is sad.  Cry

I think it is a subject that christians tend to stay away from. I must commend your courage in the matter.
I don't know what else to say, being in an African coutry myself, I can mention that lots of these girls get abducted, or as Bronzesnake mentioned, get sold by family and sometimes even neighbours. If their parents have died from AIDS the community will see this as an easy way out for them.
There is not even close to enough places of safety for Aids orphans.

54  Theology / Debate / Re:IS BUDDHA A SERVANT OF CHRIST if not then why is he described in the BIBLE on: August 03, 2005, 02:02:40 AM
Bronzesnake,
I like the wisdom in your answer.
I love the humble in your words.

Never change in that regard.
All that happens is for His glory and not our own.

I wonder if all the "Super preachers" today ever get this message? Probably not.  Embarrassed

Another problem with such sanctions is that the people that need assistance are going to suffer more because what resources are available in Zimbabwe will go to the government and none to the people that are already suffering. So even less aid will reach the already starving people. This will serve to kill many more of those that are already dying there.

But the aid is not getting to them even now. They are dying as I write this post, because what you fear is already happening.
Africa will never be able to stand up against Zim. It is not the way that things work in the African culture. If the rest of the world is waiting for Soutern African counties to respond first, the situation will stay the same for ever. That is so  Cry

Ever heard of sanctions? If the world steps up and say that no country is to supply anything to Zim, that will make a change. People are dying because of the aid not getting to them. Some of them have asked SA to stop the supply of electricity to Zim in the hope to improve the situation.
Sanctions, I mean a total clamp down on all imports, did wonders for SA. It will work for Zim too.
This is my opinion.

I am a KJV girl myself, but I think that everyone is allowed his/her own choice in the matter.

It always brings joy to me when I hear about families that worship together. I know that they will not be send anywhere without the proper preperation. Hubbie and me are studying to be evangilists.
God speed to them.

60  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / What about Zim.. on: July 22, 2005, 07:13:20 AM
I have read lots of posts about other countries and terrorism. I can't understand why no-one has yet opened the topic of Zimbabwe.
In the last year everything was done to invite the world to intervene, but no-one is lifting a finger. Even the clean-up (clean out is more like it,) did not move even one country. Neither did the fact that the same peolpe who took shelter inside churches were arrested and the rest send fleeing.
People are loosing their homes and livelyhoods and in the cold, their lives. There is not enough food or even enough fuel at the airport.
Might the fact that Zim do not have oil, diamonds or gold have anything to do with it?
Does that mean the world may close their ears to the desperate cries from the people of Zimbabwe?
Just a thought.
