First of all, I’m the one who thought that we need to feed them before we witness to them! ME, I was the one who brought it up IN FAVOR of it! Jason was the one who think we need to hand out tracks. I think we could get a lot more accomplished as Christians if we put our resource in with the general Humanitarian workers, to feed and clothes the people. Let the Missionaries come, they are not going to get anything done when people can’t here the word of God over the sound of their bodies cannibalizing themselves! Tibby, I am sorry. Please accept my apology. Hey, what makes it even worse is that I actually responded to that post by "Saved 4 Ever", then got the names wrong. That's probably why I did not see your post here as humorous. That, and me being a Dad. Eyeball

Even if I were unsaved I would have to bring up this lawyewr point though. I would call it sowing the seed.
Call it little defense lawyers or loopholes or whatever. But when I post a contradiction and it is not answered, or worse yet is deleted and called blasphemy, who is closed minded then? Who is avoiding the topic then? I will entertain any thought any of you send my way. Just remember, though, I've already been there, and have not heard anything new at this site I've not already considered. And besides, you consider anyone who will not see it your way, close minded. I consider someone open-minded if they will at least seriously consider ideas which differs from their own. I think the fear of God keeps many Christians from even thinking sometimes. Heidi, you have a lot of mumbo jumbo type of il-logic that I wouldn't even call religious. To me it seems more new age or pagan the way you explain it. Just substitute the word goddess for god and you'll see what I mean. Eyeball

Well, my thoughts are, I think parents need to beet the living daylights out of there kids when they do things. Not abusive, Never again style beatings, I mean good ol' fashion wood shed beatings! People need to learn the difference between disciplining your child and abusing them! My parents tanned my hide with a PVC pipe! Everyone over the age of 15 has a story about there brutal beatings the got for kicking soccer balls in the house, or calling your little sister a name, or other Dennis the Mince-style things kids do. What I've noticed is kids are getting less and less corporal punishment! All these abuse lawsuits and stuff, some parents are scared. I say, put the fear of God in the little runts! I think everyone’s favorite potty-mouth, Maddox, puts it best: For ages, people have been getting beaten till they can’t sit down as children, and you know what, it makes them stronger! The kids who didn’t get beat, like royalty for example, where nothing but lazy, inbred, and incompetent! This is one thing everyone, Baptist, Methodism, Catholic, everyone, can agree on. Unless you’re a Kennedy, and your parents can PAY your way out of trouble, beat your kids, they will thank you for it! I vote Tibby for President of the American Taliban! Seriously, what's wrong with you? You'd rather have people starve than not have them witnessed to, and now you want kids beaten? I spanked, I said spanked, not beat, my children until I realized that if I did the same to an adult neighbor I would be arrested for assault and battery. I don't know if I can be here often, but put me in the non-christian single parent category. Eyeball

The salvation of someone's soul is more important than their bellies being full. Sending money to poor countries for food is like hoping water will stop the bleeding.
You need to give the people the gospel while teaching them how to make their food. It does little really to just send food and not give them the gospel and teach them how to feed themselves. Feeding starving people who can't take care of themselves just produces more starving people.
I'd rather they died starving but saved than full and condemned to hell. How could you say or think anything else? Eternity is a lot longer than our short lives. It's also annoying that people think I don't want to see the hungry fed. That's not true but I'm more worried about their salvation.
Christian love indeed!

I have been away for awhile. I see no one has answered the question. I mean come on, just say "I don't know", OK?
Again. God knows all. God Made all. God made the rules. Not my beliefs, but yours. Therefore, God would have known, if he created the universe the way it is, Jesus would have to die. That leaves us with several options to explore. 1. God could not make the universe in a manner that would prevent Jesus' death. 2. God did not know that his son would have to die for your sins. 3. God wanted his son to die.
Which is it? Are there any other logical alternatives?

well if Atheists don't believe in God then they believe in man. Their only hope is in this world. But if this world is destroyed and so is man, where is their hope then? Their hope is alive only as long as they live. When they die, their lives are over FOREVER. And of course, any of us could die tomorrow. Hell is simply life without the love of God. To me it would everlasting misery because I know God. For an atheist, he dies without ever having had his sins taken away. That means his legacy on earth is what he did on earth. His good deeds were done to glorify him not to glorify God because he doesn't believe in God. That of course is selfishness. That legacy can never be taken back, unless of course, a person asks for forgiveness. But atheists don't want forgiveness and for that reason, won't receive any. Heidi can you not understand that atheists do not believe in gods? We are not mad at gods, we do not hate gods, we just do not believe they exist. You are exactly right on one point. You said, "That means his legacy on earth is what he did on earth." That's exactly how most of us feel. That is why you don't have atheists running around murdering and looting all over the place. We have morals and we know the world is what we make it, and there is nothing afterwards. So to quote one of my grade school teachers, I use my time wisely.

Symphony, how in the world can you say AAAA's posts showed anger? Maybe you are remembering from another thread, but at least in this one he seems rather calm and reserved, especially compared with Heidi.
And Heidi where do you get off saying atheists don't believe in good, and that they have told you that? Show that to me. Do a little cut and paste from the other threads.

And don't give me that lame excuse, that you want them to make their own decisions in life, well old buddy, if you don't teach them, they will always find someone else, to lead them in what their spiritual beliefs will be, I never believed, but being a father myself, one day when someone shared with me this verse that says;
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.(Prov 22:6) I would consider this brainwashing. I would also consider it brainwashing if they only saw my view of the world. My children never knew my opinions until the later years. Unbelieving fathers will always produce unbelieving children. Well, I hope so, but that is their decision.

Well said Tibby, Someguy.
I have never been shown the proof that prayer is banned from school. This is just a rumor that was started and now is believed as fact. In fact, it's very much alive there, and should be, as long as believers attend school. To ban someones right to prayer would definitely be unconstitutional.
The courts only have ruled it to be unconstitutional to force our children to pray, as it should be.

Ah, now you say I'm a swine. Thank you, Ralph. You can't understand now, because wisdom is not available until God is pleased to show mercy through Christ (1Cor Chapt. 1). That requires a work of regeneration by the Holy Spirit who does the will of Jesus But I can stop all three in their tracks, right? I can refuse the wisdom? I can refuse the regeneration? Hmm...I've never heard there was a hierarchy in heaven. I just assumed the three were equal. I learn something new every day. I was a Baptist. Is this specific to a certain denomination? Could be the Baptists believed this also, I didn't stick around long after adulthood.

I never said I loved my neighbor. I never said love was unconditional. These are your words. To me, unconditioanal love is useless and valueless. It is based on nothing. I do not subscribe to you definitions of love.
You're still avoiding my question. I answered yours. We can end this easy enough, just say you don't know the answer. I am not so arrogant that I won't admit my ignorance.

Lots of pretty words, folks, but still no answer. Why did God not plan it some other way? He is the maker of all? He could not forsee the outcome, or either he wanted his son to die?

There is plenty of evidence right before your eyes. There are many more witnesses to Christ's life, words, death, and resurrection, than to any other historical figure at that time. You have only Biblical accounts to prove your claim. With that logic, any religious book can be said to be true, just because it says so. I know it's not your fault that you can't believe. You don't have the Holy Spirit in you and because of that, you can only come from human desires. This is the key, and I'm glad you finally admitted it. One needs to believe first, then they will have all the evidence they need. Of course, once they believe, they need no evidence.
