2  Theology / Debate / Re:True teachings vs. false teachings on: May 06, 2004, 12:11:58 AM

1 Tim 3:15 - The Church is the pillar and foundation of Truth.

If you seek true teachings, seek the one, true Church of Christ.
3  Theology / Debate / Re:Cults on: May 05, 2004, 12:09:16 AM
I offer two explanations.  1.  Either the Bible is contradictory.  2.  The Father that Jesus speaks of is different than the father that the Apostles speak of.

Take your pick, and let me know.

Rich, Do you give God the credit for all things holy?
4  Theology / Debate / Re:Cults on: May 04, 2004, 11:34:41 PM
One thing that Catholics believe is that the Bible cannot Contradict itself.

Jesus says "Call no man Father"

Possible contradictions:
St. Stephen call Jewish leaders "fathers"
St. Paul calls Jersulaem Jews "fathers"
St. Paul calls Abraham, "the father of us all"

So I offer two explanations.  1.  Either the Bible is contradictory.  2.  The Father that Jesus speaks of is different than the father that the Apostles speak of.

Take your pick, and let me know.

why isn't the eucharist "CANNIBALISM?"
aw

That is exactly how the Roman emperors justified persecuting the early church.  Your in bad company.
6  Theology / Bible Study / Re:What is your favorite book of the Bible and why? on: May 02, 2004, 12:52:37 AM
My favorite is the book of Sirach (Ecclesiasticus).  The prose is absolutely beautiful.
7  Theology / Debate / Re:One Father who is in heaven on: April 30, 2004, 11:42:34 PM
You sound like the Jews who say that Jesus cannot be the Messiah because the Jews scripture says that the Messiah is born form a woman who is Ever-Virgin.
8  Theology / Debate / Re:Abortion: Right or Wrong? on: April 30, 2004, 06:04:54 PM
Abortion is wrong!  If you think abortion is right, then you are not a Christian in good standing with God!
