31  Fellowship / What are you doing? / Encouraging the discouraged and witnessing to the lost on: April 18, 2008, 10:07:35 PM
I enjoy encouraging Christians and working with special needs students and adults giving to them the Word of God.  I also pass out Christian literature and music to lost and saved people alike!
32  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Jesus Christ is coming very soon! on: April 17, 2008, 09:30:14 PM
Jesus Christ is coming very soon according to His own words in Matthew 24:33 which says, "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it (Jesus Christ's coming) is at the door."  There is nothing that needs to be fulfilled before the rapture occurs.  Jesus Christ's coming is pretrib,  before the millennium, and imminent!  He could come now or tomorrow!  His coming is very soon!
33  Theology / Debate / Re: Tithing - Top 10 reasons I don't on: April 11, 2008, 11:32:00 PM
I Corinthians 16:2 says, "Upon the first day of the week, let every man lay by him in store as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come."  II Corinthians 9:7 says, "Every man according as he purposeth in his heartm si ket gun give; not grudgingly nor of necessity; for God loveth a cheerful giver."

Those two verses explain  the New Testament principle of giving; therefore, the motive of the heart in God's sight is the most important factor in His sight concerning giving.  You can give all your money to Him, but it will profit you nothing unless you want to give it to Him out of a heart of love!  There is no minimum or maximum amount of money to give to the Lord, for He cares about the motives of your heart more than He does about the amount you give!  Love for Him and His Word is the most important thing in His sight!
34  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: I need peace and comfort on: April 11, 2008, 11:12:59 PM
David, please do not dwell on what happened yesterday.  Remember God says in His Word, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  God forgives and forgets because He loves us that much! So look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.  Look up I John 1:9 and claim it for yourself!
35  Prayer / General Discussion / Romans 1:9-10 on: April 06, 2008, 07:56:31 PM
Romans 1:9 says, "For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the Gospel of His Son; that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you."

Here Paul prays for God to give him a prosperous journey if it is God's will for him to visit the Romans.  It is good to pray for a safe journey when we travel especially with a spiritual purpose!
36  Entertainment / Music / Christy Lane on: March 29, 2008, 10:12:36 PM
I love all the inspirational music sung by Christy Lane.  I love the contemporary Christian music of Stephen Curtis Chapman and Twila Paris.
37  Entertainment / Books / Favorite book on: March 29, 2008, 10:10:28 PM
I love the book The king is Coming by Dr. H.L. Wilmington formerly of Liberty University!  Another good book on Bible prophecy is Jesus is Coming by W.E. Blackstone.

I liked the book 666 by Salem Kirban.  A great devotional book is My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers.  Reading the Word and studying it is my favorite Christian activity!
38  Fellowship / You name it!! / Matthew 18:10 on: March 28, 2008, 09:17:53 PM
Matthew 18:10 says, "Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven , their angels do always  behold the face of my Father which is in heaven."

All believers whether rich, poor, old, or young or whatever race or nationality are precious in the sight of God their Savior!
39  Prayer / General Discussion / Whom to pray for on: March 26, 2008, 09:38:41 PM
I Timothy 2:1-3 says, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are i authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior."

We need to make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all men, rulers, and governments.  This helps us live peaceable life in the sight of God and men!

40  Theology / Apologetics / Bob Jones University on: March 25, 2008, 10:10:22 PM
One of the core beliefs we learned at Bob Jones University in the old days was " to earnestty contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints."  (Jude 3)

To earnestly contend for the faith, we may have to oppose the compromisers of new evangelicalism, modernism, and the ecumenical movement.  We need to contend for the faith without being contentious, and we need to speak the truth in love to reach those who are lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
41  Welcome / About You! / Living for Christ on: March 24, 2008, 10:26:58 PM
II Corinthians  4:56 says, "For we preach not ourselves but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves  your servants for Jesus' sake."

That is my chief goal in life!  I am not perfect, but I have grown in the Lord since being saved!
42  Theology / General Theology / Re: A Progressive Dispensational View on: March 23, 2008, 11:48:42 PM
I am a dispensationalist but not an ultradispensationalist.  II Timothy 2:15 says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Dispensationalism taught by Clarence Larkin, Dr. John Walvoord, and Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost is biblically correct for it teaches the proper division of God's Word the way the Lord meant it to be!
