Okay, brothers and sisters.  For a forum like this, since it's a "community" of sorts, and there are going to be those of us who are always, um, "pushing the envelope", or straying from the Tried and True(now stop looking at me), I'm thinking maybe we need a sort of Website Hoosegow--hehe--Yes, a Jail, a Stockade, THE BIG SLAMMER,  where we can send the offending party to let him(or her--hehe), as it were, "cool off".

I suppose they could be sent here either at the arrest of like bep, or Admin, or maybe there could be "citizen arrests", where fellow members can "list" the perpatrator here.  Then, with other's recommendations, they can be, um "suspended"(hehe ;)).  Until they make amends.  >:( ;D

Also, with the perp listed here, could be their email(if they wanted it), so that way members could contact them to try to persuade them or help them "see the light"(hehe).

It would also become an available list of former members and, perhaps, what "they're in for"( :-X).

I think Admin could set up a whole separate category here, and just call it "Jail".   For malcontents and those of, um, general "malfeasance".   Maybe put it in the Fellowship area(hehe), right under Testimonies, or maybe Entertainment, under Television(at the very bottom).  Bep could do the arresting, listing their user name there, with the infraction(e.g., "aiding and abetting a stupid comment" ;D).

 ;D   ;D  Maybe we need a virtual judge, jury, and executioner. You mentioned citizen's arrests, and that made me partially remember the Andy Griffith episode where Barney gave Gomer a ticket for something, and Gomer made a citizen's arrest of Barney for doing the same thing. That show was an example of clean family fun.

If we model that after the Mayberry jail, you'll have to remember that they always left the cell doors open and the prisoners stayed on the honor system.  ;D  One must also remember that Aunt Bee provided the best food in the country for the prisoners, so some didn't want to leave.

The Virtual CU Supreme Court has met and rendered a verdict. The nine judge panel rendered a unanimous verdict.

The defendant didn't realize what he was doing, but he won't be let off with a slap on the wrist.

The defendant will be taken to a place of punishment and slapped twice by a 5 pound carp in a location chosen by the executioner. The executioner will also choose how fresh or how spoiled the fish might be.   ;D

The court appoints Willowbirch as the executioner.    ;D

It sounds like you need to run for judge. Maybe you could style the court after the one Judge Roy Bean had in the Old West. I've read and seen various documentaries, stories, and movies about him. There had been a gunfight one day, and one of the deceased was lying in the dirt street. I don't know if this is true or not, but the story is that Judge Roy Bean counted the money in his pocket and fined the deceased that amount for littering.   ;D

Regardless, I think we need you as a Judge. We haven't had a good, old fashioned "hanging judge" in quite some time.   ;D

There are no repeat offenders. One night in Whitehorse's jail with that cyclop jailer and they are on the straight and narrow. Whitehorse made a wise decision hiring the cyclop, and vision care under the medical plan is cheaper.   :D

I say we give him 150 lbs of New York strip steak, every day. Cooked well-done with cracked pepper on it. Also caesar salad with creamy dressing, potatoes and almond beans, with creme brulle for dessert! But on the off-chance he can't eat it all, I'll dispose of it properly. ;)

 :D  Are you saying there are some who have completed their sentence but were forgotten and left in the deep darkness with the cyclops to languish in obscurity?

 :D  Or, are you saying that the cyclops needs more company? If so, I make a citizen's arrest of tonytony for public impersonation of a troll. I regret to inform you that I deleted some of the evidence, several gibberish, nonsense posts that were evidently designed to annoy and disrupt.

In the absence of further violations by tonytony, I recommend a 10 day sentence and a 3 month probation following his sentence. In the event of further violations, I recommend that he be charged with the harsher offense, BEING A TROLL IN PUBLIC. The cyclops should prescribe and carry out any punishment for the second and more serious charge. I would recommend that the cyclops be informed of, "NO MERCY".   :D

I want to file a Friend of the Court, amicus brief,  on tonytony.  What's he done?

 :D  I told my wife that I want one of these lights for Valentine's day to put on the family mini-van. You never know when it might come in handy (i.e. getting through red lights when you are in a hurry, negotiating traffic jams, and making citizen's arrests for folks who get in your way).   ;D

I simply wish to plead guilty, so there won't be any need of an interrogation by the cyclops. 3 hots and a cot, and I'll stay as long as you let me.

Put Allinall in here too, but I think he will need the full interrogation to confess where all of those prisoners are he helped to escape. I've heard that Allinall will not cooperate with the cyclops at all. In fact, I heard Allinall say that cyclops was so ugly his momma didn't like him. I think that Allinall will be a hard case that the cyclops will have to devote continual attention to for my entire incarceration.   ;D

I think the cyclops should make Allinall confess his attempted career as a terrorist. I say attempted because his first assignment was to blow up a school bus.

This thread reminds me of something that happened to me about last summer on a Christian board where I was an administrative moderator.
I didn't know very much about moderating the chat rooms (my speciality was forums) and I had to go in a take care of a trouble maker.
I locked the trouble maker in jail. I had to go into the jail area and explain to him what he did wrong. Unfortunately when I did that, I locked myself in jail too.
I had to ask the one of the other moderators to let me out of jail.
They started threads in my honor teasing me about that one for days!

What IS the difference between a chat room and a forum, anyway?

The difference between chat and forums is that chat is generally a couple of people in a "room" talking (ok, typing). It's "live" so to speak. Sometimes they are all invovled in the same conversation, sometimes not.

Forums are message boards where you can respond to something that someone said a few weeks or even a few months ago, or something they may have said a minute earlier.

I started off on the net about 6 or 7 years ago, hanging out mostly in Christian chat rooms. About 5 years ago, someone encouraged me to post homeschooling question in a homeschool forum. I was hooked!

Although both are great ways for Christians to fellowship and witness, I do have a preference for forums.

Regarding locking myself in jail, my family had a hard time letting me live that one down too.
However, my husband and neighbor lead a jail ministry and they did promise to come visit me every Saturday and Tuesday.  ;D

It's easier to enoy a good cup 'o Joe while reading through forums.

TVLand shows a few every now and then, but I don't watch a lot of TV. I remember several really funny episodes where Barney actually got to put his (1) bullet in his gun.   ;D  His shaking and face were really funny when he was on a dangerous case, and Andy usually had to rescue him.

I hereby make a citizen's arrest of sincereheart, shylyyne, and MsGuidedAngel for making a mockery of the Jail thread. The judge (BEP) will decide whether or not to hear all three cases at the same time or at different times.

I will be the prosecution and I select Brother Love as my lawyer (it'll help him get more posts  ;D). The defendants will have to find some kind soul to represent them.

My son plays acoustic and electric, the band is called Jacobs Ladder,  they have played in different places around the province, very popular with the young people, prolly cause they are all young 20`s too,  they went separate directions for a few years because of college and stuff, but now are setting up thier own recording studio and going full swing into the music business.  My other son is a drummer...but none of my kids are as strange as thier momma  :P

We can't get to that yet, we still have to know more about your age and the length of your hair and your wrestling viewing habits! Patience!  ;)

Naw. My friend is a yank turned southerner. she lived in Ohio for a while...and moved to TN a few years ago. So we talk. Besides canada's a little too cold for me at this time of year to come visit. I may come up sometime just to visit, but not to live. I want to be able to see the snow come and go in the same day! I can attest to that last statement...you are certainly unique. But hey if we weren't we wouldn't be ourselves. That's cool they play in a band. I play in one also. it's called "Anointed Praise" we have a good ole time. I play rythme on my Taylor Acoustic. Man I love that guitar. Oh yea i'm done studying now. we just got our lecture for doing bad on a test for today so the teacher's calmed down now...lol. He threatened to take off internet, but since this is ht eonly way we can take our tests and do our work, he can't really take it off without causing himself more trouble than it's worth...:) Anywho...i[ll await further posts..

Nah, just one who lives here in my town that i've grown up with for a while... she didn't steal my heart...lol. She just enjoys picking at me, so i pick at her anyway i can!
