1Pe 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

I am His sheep now. He is my Shepherd

Isa 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

I am going to be rewarded.

1Pe 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

I read in 'Fear of God' by Phillip Bevre (?) that when compared to the sun is a basketball and earth a mustard seed!  Yet sun is one of the smallest of the stars that fill skies of the earth which is a wee part of the Milky way which is a negligible part of the galaxy!

Re 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars ......

And this does not fully explain how big God is!!

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

What a merciful, gracious and mighty God we serve!!!  Oh! He is eager to heal nations and lift up those who humble themselves!!

Pastor Roger, a wonderful prayer with burden for the nation.  Such righteous men of God hold nations intact and standing.  Praise the Lord!

Amen!!

Am 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
8  Theology / General Theology / Re: Why an empty cross in your church? on: May 23, 2006, 04:04:46 PM
I feel an empty cross / cross with Christ is essential in a Christian worship place inside or outside - not for Christians but for non-Christians, especially in a place where majority are non-Christians.  It is the cross that comes to a person's mind when he thinks of Christianity.  One day or the other the Spirit of God will prompt him to know the story behind it.

At the Cross, At the Cross, where I first saw the light
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith, i received my sight,
And now i am happy all the day.

For Christians it is a reminder, for non-Christians it is a pointer to salvation.  We need the cross (with or without Jesus on it).  I feel the church has reformed well out of idol worship and all of us know it.

When we do not have cross at all anywhere in sight, God will still do His work.  He may have to rely on the Christians' living as testimony.... Embarrassed

Knocking, knocking, who is there?
Waiting, waiting, oh, how fair!
’Tis a Pilgrim, strange and kingly,
Never such was seen before,
Ah, my soul, for such a wonder,
Wilt thou not undo the door?

Knocking, knocking! still He’s there:
Waiting, waiting, wondrous fair!
But the door is hard to open
For the weeds and ivy vine,
With their dark and clinging tendrils,
Ever round the hinges twine.

Knocking, knocking—what, still there?
Waiting, waiting, grand and fair!
Yes, the piercèd hand still knocketh,
And beneath the crownèd hair
Beam the patient eyes, so tender,
Of thy Savior waiting there.

This is an old hymn our Grandma taught us.  We used to sing this when we were kids.  Later when I was skimming through the hymn book, I stumbled upon this one.  I rededicated my life to Jesus.

Yes, the Pilgrim is strange and kingly!!  Why would He a king come in search of a wretch like me?  It is indeed a wondrous fair!

Amen!

Col 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Ps 82:3,4
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

This I believe will definitely please Him! Smiley
12  Theology / Bible Prescription Shop / Re: Fear on: May 21, 2006, 03:57:48 PM
Ps 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Isa 8:12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
Isa 8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

It's bizarre to me the big commotion in America over the public display and honoring of the Commandments by Christians is here in this thread  said to be "dead", "done away with", "impossible to keep", and causes folks to be "puffed up".....how can we expect non-christians to respect them when your answers here seem to say that Christians can toss them aside and lean on "grace"??

The thread (most posts) strive to say that the commandments are obeyed when one accepts Jesus Christ.  Before that one would obey or walk accordingly under 'moral' or 'judicial grounds'.  It is hard enough

After accepting Jesus Christ a person is driven by Holy Spirit to obey the commandments by virtue.  This is not as hard as it may sound.

Obedience thus is the work of Holy Spirit than the work of the man.  when one thinks latter there is all possibility in the earth that he would become self righteous.
15  Fellowship / For Men Only / Re: Chance Encounter with a Girl on: May 16, 2006, 01:48:59 PM
Blackmanx,

Let Jesus work on your loneliness.  It appears that you were longingly looking at her than she did!  It is natural and common at this age.  My suggestion would be that you brush this off and move on with other things.

As rightly pointed out try answering the questions Marv has put forth.
When you have accepted Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will dwell in you and will lead and guide you in any situation of life.

And you will not always look for an easy way out.
