91  Entertainment / Animals and Pets / Re: I need you guys' opinion please. on: May 27, 2006, 12:20:38 PM
Thank you guys for the advice.  The reason I did what I did and didn't get the law involved was because I didn't want him to get in trouble.  I don't want to cause waves with my neighbor.  He can have a strange attitude sometimes and I don't want to have to live next door to someone that I ticked off.  I think that he didn't really want the cat anyway.  To answer a question someone asked, no he doesn't know that I have the cat.  If I tell him I'm afraid that he will take an attitude and take back the cat out of spite and abuse it again, so I won't risk that.  I also know that if I gave this cat to the humaine society she would be put to sleep because of her aggresivness.  She still can be slightly aggressive and I wonder if that will ever go away.   Even though I know what I did was good I felt that it was bad because I kind of feel that I stole this cat from my neighbor.

Thanks for your replies.

Thing (Bob) shows them they are no match for us,

Invisible Woman (Maria)  Grin Grin Grin hides from Allinall

In the winter time I took in my neighbor's cat.  My neighbor was leaving this poor cat outside for hours upon hours in the freezing cold and rain.  It would scream to go into the house.  I would call it over and pet it and sometimes it would be shaking badly and have it's fur frozen with rain and snow.  We on multiple occasions told the neighbor hey your cat is outside.  My neighbor said that it was peeing around the house.  Finally after about 3-4 hours of 20-30 degree weather I took the cat in my house.  I also noticed that she would act weird too.  She wouldn't come out of the carrier for 2 days and acted like someone has abused her.  She would bite when you would pet her and was shy.  Now after about 3 months I have finally tamed her some.  She still acts weird. My neighbor never once asked about his cat.  I'm so afraid to ask him if I can have his cat because he is arrogent and might take her back just out of spite and I don't want the poor thing to get abused anymore.  My question is I know God doesn't want me to steal but what am I supposed to do?  Doesn't He count what I did as stealing?  Should I talk to my neighbor?  Sorry that this is so long but I really need advice.  Please tell me what you would do.
94  Theology / General Theology / Re: Why an empty cross in your church? on: May 21, 2006, 11:00:07 PM
My church is not decorated either.  Come to think of it about the only time that we get to look at a cross is for Easter to remind us what Jesus did for us.  I just wouldn't feel comfortable with statues around.  I kinda agree about the idol thing.

I am puzzled: If the 10 Commandments are so impossible to keep, why did God write them with His own Hand? Is it logical that He would punish those who did not keep an impossible Law? Would you do that to your child??

The law I believe was written to show us the right way to live.  It was also written to show us how much we mess up and need a savior.  God knows that we can't live up to His standards and that is why He died for us.  So that He could offer a perfect sacrifice that would clean us of our sins and transgressions once and for all.

Quote from: Blackeyedpeas
I want to do and say only the things that please GOD because I love HIM and I know that it hurts HIM when I sin. BUT, I also know that regardless of how hard I try that my only goodness and righteousness is in JESUS CHRIST, my Lord and Saviour forever.

Exactly!  And it is when we show through our actions that we love God do the unbelievers take notice.  See that is what I ment in my post.  To live as Christ wants us to live, not to live as the world.

Even though you guys say that the 10 commandments were done away with at the cross I still feel that I should follow them, not as a way of salvation, but as a guideline (along with other teachings of Christ in the Bible) to live my life.  I feel that our lives have to stick out some way from the ways that the unsaved live.  And that way is to live the best way that I can be imitating Christ.  When ever anyone is turned off from Christianity it is usually by Christians that are only "Christian" on Sunday and then live a destructive life the other six days of the week.
99  Fellowship / What are you doing? / Re: SPIRITUALLY OUT OF BALANCE on: May 15, 2006, 02:08:32 PM
Not to knock you mqueen or anything but I think that you will get more people's attention to what you want to get accross if you do it in a more positive manner.  You want to reach newer Christians right?  If new Christians or unbelievers read your book that has all the negitive hypocrites (which at some points we all can be) and see all this negitive stuff about Christianity, they will think boy why should I follow a religion like that.  The problem with people is that we are imperfect and we represent a perfect God.  We will never be perfect representitives.  Instead if you want to show something why not show God's love and how He handle's things when His children do things wrong.  I am reading the bible daily and it shows how God handles things.  Why not show instances where a person is doing something wrong and then through bible verses show how God would handle that problem.

Good luck.  I will be praying for you.  They are like trying to have an intelligent conversation with a brick wall.  I could have gave you all my material and study, but my computer got a virus and I lost everything. Sad

I will also be praying for you.  It seems like I also sometimes have a problem with things not going the way that I ment them to go.  I think that even though things don't turn out the way that we think that they should God still knows our heart and that our actions were out of heart felt love and obedience for Him.  Never give up in anything that you do for God.  Because like I said even though things go in a different direction you were just doing it because you love God and that is what counts.

Love in Christ,
Kristen
