Need help. This is long but please read it and understand my situation...

Hi, my name is Ira James. Don't get mistaken, I'm a boy with a girl's name. Yeah, I know. Its weird for a boy to have a name of a girl but I don't mind about it at all so I'll just get to my prayer request.

You see, I have been a new believer for almost a year now. I'm Catholic but I refer to myself as I Christian because I am a follower of Christ. I'm still in 1st year highschool at People of Grace Christian School. This school is a ministry of a growing church in Kamuning, that is in the Philippines.
The church leaders had this idea of G12 or the Govenment of 12. I think some of you knows about it. Now all the students are attending the EGR or Encounter God Retreat. The first EGR was for the highschool and that's us. Now we have finished this camp and all of us were victorious in defeating Satan in our lives. Its good to be a new believer and its a good feeling to leave your old self. We destroyed the strongholds of Satan in our lives. Rebellion, our families bondages, curses, sexual immorality, wine, cigars, all of them.

During that time I was baptized by the Holy Spirit. I recieved the gift to speak in tounges. Now I use it to pray for others and to talk to God.
After a few days, I was tempted to do a sin. This sin is in the category of sexual immorality. I tried to fight it and I failed. I gave in. My life is becoming miserable again... I was ashamed of myself. I always ask forgiveness and I now God forgave me. I prayed for deliverance but I can't stop doing this sin. I'm falling down to my knees and become defeated again. I cannot move on to my spiritual life.

During at church I cannot worship God properly. I cannot raise my hands to him and call him father. I'm ashamed. After all my prayers that he answered I am doing this to him. I knew that my body is a part of Christ as written on the book of 1st Corinthians.

I cannot ask help from my church leaders because I am supposed to be pure in spirit and flesh. I speak in tounges! It is humiliating to ask because my classmates thinks that I am pure that's why I recieve this gift. Now I am thinking negative. I asked God for this gift. And I became a man pleaser!

Please dear brothers pray for my total deliverance, and pray that God will forgive me because I became a man pleaser. Also pray for me to interpret what I say in tounges, and pray that God won't leave me. Also pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit in the EGR. The upper elemantry is having it as I speak. Not only this time but also to the upcoming EGRs because I know that we're getting close to Evangelize the whole Philippines.

Last request, pray for those people who have attended the EGR to move straight to God and not to give in temptations.

I like the name. First of all the name Ira may be considered a girls name in the Pilippines but it was a common mans name here in the U.S. at one time. There was a very prominent man that helped in the founding of the U.S. that had the first name of Ira, a very Godly, upright man. Ira is also a Biblical name of a man.

(2Sa 20:26)  And Ira also the Jairite was a chief ruler about David.

I will join you in prayer for this problem that you have. Each time that you feel tempted, Ira, turn to the Lord in prayer He will help you through.

Ira, You have to pray for strength in your time of weakness. I know it is hard and it will require discipline on your part, but if you will be faithful to God he will bring you through this. Only you and the Holy Spirit know when you are weak and you need to remove yourself from the situtation and begin to pray. If you are having a hard time know how to pray or what to pray, please allow the Holy Spirit to taking over and use your pray language. You can use your gift of speaking in tongues for yourself. What a wonderful gift God has given you. Please follow up with us so we can rejoice with you once you are delivered from this sin.

Hi Ira,

You won't be the first and/or last caught in this diilemma, I'm sure. What is happening is your enemy is seeking to remove the seeds of your recent victory. What you'll need to do is fight back at him, and overcome him.

The first thing I suggest is to devoutly read the Bible and pray every day. Look for verses that contain the phrase "in Him", or "in Christ", or similar to that effect. Predominantly, these verses will be found in the Epistles of Paul. Just about every one of these verses will tell you something that you have, or something that you are when you are "in Him", or born again.

And I can tell that you ARE born again by your sensitivity to sin. So make no mistake, nothing you do, and nothing Satan can do can separate you from Jesus, or his love for you.

Here is a little something about spiritual warfare from the Word of God:

2Co 10:3  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2Co 10:4  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
2Co 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

So now, it is apparent that we must bring every thought into captivity if we are to win the war againt our carnal, or fleshly natures. How do we bring thoughts into captivity?

Try this little exercise. Start counting in your mind from 1 to 20. At about 7, speak your name out loud. What happened to your counting? It had to stop to lsten to what your mouth had to say, didn't it? This is the way we are made.

So now, when Satan brings the sinful carnal thoughts that have been capturing you, say this out loud,
"I love the Lord my God with all my heart, all my soul, all my strength, and all my mind. And I love my neighbour as myself."

And every time the devil brings an evil thought, you say those words out loud. It will help you bring your thoughts into captivity, as well as speak the truth of God's Word from your mouth.

Finally, as I previous;ly mentioned, seek out those scriptures I described above and when your find one, speak it out loud. Make it a profession in your life, and believe it is so. This will help you to grow in strength spiritually in Christ Jesus.

I will give you a couple that are powerful  to begin with.

2Co 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When you are born again, you become a new creation. You become a new man created in the image of Christ Jesus. Say this one out loud also, and meditate on it in your mind. This will renew your mind with the Word, which will eventually get down into your brand new spirit, and become an unshakeable rock!! It will also send Satan running because he can't stand to HEAR the Word of God. That's another reason why you speak it out loud.

Here's another:

Eph 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Hallelujah!!!!  Notice that this is past tense. We HAVE BEEN blessed with all spiritual blessings in HEAVEN.

Finally, if you do fail, then know this:

1Jo 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Confess your sin to Jesus right away, and get rid of it. Do NOT let it fester in there. And then go back to speaking the Word of God on loving God with all your heart, and soul, and strength, and mind. Do NOT give up!! You will become victorious!

Keep me posted on what you find, and how things are going. I have an extensive list of these verses, so when you hunger fore more, I can share some more. But you may find it more rewarding digging out these little gems yourself. Look also for phrase like "in whom", "by whom", etc.

Thanks! Now I know that I will remain victorious even when the universe it self collapse.

I just stopped reading the Bible daily because I'm ashamed of myself. During this past few months I only read the Bible when I fell like to. But now I will never stop.
