Now that is the biggest trout that I have ever seen. My youngest son is the one in my family that loves fishing. I'll have to share that pic with him. He will drool for sure.

Amen PR, that is a big trout. The biggest trout I ever caught was only about 10 inches, and 2 smaller speckled trout. But I have caught some pretty nice sized Whiting, and Jacks. (I throw the Jacks back in the water).

I'm not much of a fish eater myself and don't care for fishing as a sport. The only thing I fish for besides men is catfish and I don't go for the catfish very much anymore. My granddad was a real fisher though. He was always out fishing. He had his own minnow pond for bait. I had a picture of him where he went grabbing and came up with a channel cat that was longer than he was tall. He stood 5' 4". He had his hand in the gills holding his arm straight above his head and the tail still was curled upwards on the ground. I wish that I still had that picture but it was destroyed in my house fire years back.

The biggest one I caught that way was about 10" long with the spine run through the center of my hand.   Grin Grin Grin Grin

My biggest, was an apache trout weighting almost 18 lbs. Looking at brother Johns I would say his is about 22-23 lbs.

My husband and I went fishing on the Jax pier one time and I caught a pretty good size Whiting, I was having such a hard time reeling him in that the man fishing next to me ran to get his net, in the meantime my husband grabbed the rod from my hand and started to reel the fish in, when he finally got it close enough to where I could reach and grab the fish that drn fish faought and fought I got slapped in the face with his tail, a couple of times and I let go of him and he jumped back in the water. I was so embarrassed.

Fish have a way of embarassing even the most experienced of anglers.

I'm no where near experienced I just happen to be able to catch fish, once in a while  Grin

And not only was I embarrassed,   Embarrassed  but my face was hurting, that fish slapped me pretty hard. I laugh when I think about it because it reminds me of things that people think could only happen in cartoons.  Grin
