Why is the town of Beaver, Oklahoma the “Cow Chip Throwing Capital of the World” and not Cow Yard, Massachusetts?

   I can't remember, but I'm almost sure that the "Cow Chip Tossing (Not Throwing) Contests", including the first, were in Oklahoma. I'm also almost sure that the current "cow chip tossing Champion" lives in Oklahoma. If the current champion lives in MA., they would have been trained in Oklahoma and won the honor in OK.
