I thought a thread on this topic might be encouraging to single Christian women and interesting to us married ladies.

One of my friends said she told God at age 16 that she wasn't going to date, she wanted God to just show her a husband....and He did soon after.  She married at 18, to a wonderful Christian man with a heart for the Lord.  She had been praying, "Lord, send me someone who loves you like <Tim> does, who praises you in song like <Tim>, etc....and she ended up marrying <Tim>!!   Meanwhile <Tim> had told God he wasn't going to date and didn't even want to ever marry, but God told him that girl over there will be your wife.

For me, I prayed for specific qualities in my future husband and I was active at church hoping to meet a Christian man there.  That was not the case though, as I met my husband through a mutual friend, whom I had told how difficult it was to find a good Christian man to date.  Dh and I were married one year after meeting.  He is everything on my "specific qualities list" except "skinny"...oh, well, God knew what was really important!  (like stronger spiritually than me, good sense of humor, sensitive, etc.)

I met my husband while working at a gas station. I was not were I should have been in my walk with God and took the first person who came along. Here I am almost 19 years later married to a non-christian man and not sure when or if he will ever serve God. I know God can save him, but my hubby has to realize that he is lost and needs Jesus. That is my prayer.

Hi Catty and welcome to CU!  I know exactly what it's like to be married to a nonbeliever!  But we can't worry about their salvation, let God do that.  We just need to walk as closely with Jesus as we can for ourselves.  There is no happiness or joy that a husband can give you, like Jesus can!

Anyway, my husband has been known to my family for about fifty years!  No kidding!  When he was a young boy of about eight years old, he was my grandparents' paperboy.  Then he went to middle school with my mom when they were around 12 years old, and he recalls her pregnancy (at 15) with me!!! I was reaquainted with him about 4 years ago after my marriage broke up and I wound up marrying him . . . . most of my brothers and sisters here know what a mistake it turned out to be.

PS:  I love the new site format!   Kiss

Talkercat,
I understand when you say we can't worry about his Salvation, because if we do that just takes all of our time and energy away from doing God's will in our lives. I have prayed for him and I know God has already saved him. He just needs to realize it, admit he is a sinner and accept Jesus as his savior.

Well, I met my husband at Hardee's. You see I was married once b 4 I met him. I had a daughter with my first marriage. That was the only thing good that came out of that marriage.

When I meet my 2nd husband I had to work a part time job to make ends meet for us. While working there I meet the man of my dreams. The only thing was we were not supposed to date bc he was a manager. We did it anyway in secret until we could no longer take it and I quite. I wanted the whole world to know how much I loved this man and today he is my everything!
