Brothers and Sisters,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I mean this in a sincere and Christian way. This means a lot of things to the world, but it probably means a lot of VERY different things to Christians, members of the BODY OF CHRIST, a church not made with human hands.

Many people will make New Year resolutions, including many Christians. We all know that Christians have a different way of looking at everything, much different than the world. Most Christians will reflect on the previous year and give thanks for the blessings of GOD. Nearly all Christians will have burdens on their hearts and prayers for the New Year on a host of needs and issues. Many of these needs and issues will involve prayer for others.

I really wanted to start this thread and give everyone an opportunity to:

Give Thanks!

Give a personal testimony.

Reflect and share something GOD has done for you or your family this year.

Make another prayer request for burdens that are on your heart right now.

Share your hopes and dreams for you and your family for the coming New Year.

Go ahead and make your New Year's resolution here.

Share your prayers for your personal ministry or ministries you are involved in. Maybe the ministry that is on your heart involves others around the world such as missions. As for me, many of these missions involve Christians risking their lives to serve the LORD.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

IN JESUS!!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Amen!  I my hopes and dreams for the year 2006 is for ALL of my family to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, for those that already have to rededicated their lives to Him, for God to give His wisdom to those who are already trusting in Him and that He grant me the joy of seeing these things come to pass. In the year 2006 I pray for more people to be saved, that not one of God's chosen go astray, and that God will give me wisdom and discernment as I pray for and intercede for others.

AMEN SISTER MARIA!

I will gladly join you in prayer. Knowing that your entire family is Saved is a matter of great peace and joy. Sister, you are a strong woman in the LORD, and I give thanks that your family has you. I will pray that GOD leads and guides you and that GOD works through you to bring your entire family to CHRIST.

I might have made part of this prayer request before. If so, please allow me to make a second prayer request for members of my family serving as missionaries:

Two mature and strong Christian couples serving in Old Mexico. Both of these couples have spent their lives as missionaries in various locations, and they raised their children in some dangerous and difficult circumstances. All of their children are raised now, out on their own, and some are even serving as missionaries. These two couples are seasoned and very strong, but please pray that God continues to watch over them and bless their ministry.

One very young but strong Christian couple serving in Chile. They have two small children, both being born in Chile. The LORD is richly blessing their ministry. They are strong in the LORD, but they are still learning about the difficulties of mission work in foreign lands. I would especially appreciate that you pray for their safety and the safety of their small children. The LORD is already blessing their ministry, so safety is a primary concern.

One of the youngest couples in our family will be going to serve as missionaries in Africa. The time for their departure has been delayed to probably the spring or summer of 2006. They are very strong in the LORD, but they are young, without experience, and they are starting in a very dangerous and difficult portion of the world. I would especially appreciate that you pray that GOD uses these extra months to strengthen them and equip them for their first work as missionaries.

We also have several missionaries from around the world who are members of Christians Unite. It's very nice to hear from them when they are able. Let's keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Along these same lines of thought, there are Christians in danger and need around the world serving the LORD. I'm very sad to say that growing numbers of them are being killed or facing other serious consequences for doing the LORD's work. When we pray for them, let's give thanks for the peace and safety GOD has given most of us to share the Gospel of the Grace of God with others. We should know that our own country is still a mission field, and there is much to do here for the LORD.

Dear Heavenly Father, we pray that 2006 will be a year where hosts of people will place all of their trust and faith in your SON, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour. LORD, we ask that you watch over all of your children, young and old, wherever they might be in the world. LORD, we ask for your protection, especially for those who are serving YOU and sharing the GOOD NEWS of Salvation. LORD, for all of us, we ask that You give us burdens in our hearts for the lost, our families and for people we don't know. LORD, we ask that You give us wisdom, guidance, strength, and a willing heart to do Your Will. LORD, we know that every good thing comes from You, and we give thanks for the uncountable blessings you have given us and our families. LORD, finally we ask that you give us wisdom to say and do only the things that will bring Glory, Honor, and Praise to you. We ask these things in the precious name of JESUS, our Lord and Saviour forever!    Amen

Psalms 100  NASB

A Psalm for Thanksgiving. Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.

Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing.

Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

Amen!!
I am in agreement with you, brother, Jesus said:

Mt 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Mt 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

We do not have to be physically gathered, we are spiritually gathered in His Name, and we can be certain He hears us.

I am praying for all whom you have requested.

I join in the requests of Sister Maria and Brother Tom. I also requests prayers for a different kind of Mission field. That of our Troops that are around the world. Many of these Troops are Christians and are doing the Lords work also.

Many of you are already praying for my daughter-in-law and twins. I ask that you pray that all my grandchildren will be brought up in the ways of the Lord and will come to know Him as their Saviour. A prayer also that I may continue in the Lords work and be able to glorify Him according to His will.

I also am praying for Christians Unite and the many good Christians family members here that we all may continue to bless our Lord and Saviour, glorifying Him in all we do and say. That we all will know a wonderful year through and with Him.

I thank the good Lord for being able to work for Him this last year in all glory to Him.

Brothers and Sisters,

I give thanks to all my brothers and sisters herer at C.U. We are all family, maybe not in the physcial sense. But in the spirit, of Jesus. Some times, when I feel alone, I come on CU and just read, different threads. Theres always something in one, or more threads to lift my spirit.

I have treasures beyond belief, when I came here last year. I have grown as a Christian, spiritally, and physcially.
Brother Tom you have been a mentor to me, I don't know if you know that, but you are.
Brother John evolution, I disagreeded with, you helped me prove my point in several threads. Also thanks for showing me my errors. You know what I am talking about.
Pastor Roger, I have learned more on the Law then I knew before. You have gotten me to research more on the law. And I studied law for a year, in college.
Sister Maria, what can I say, but thank you, for being you.
Sister Terri, You have made me look deeper inside myself, thank you I like what I see.
Allinall, the joker of the forum. Grin  I can look after you in laughter forum, anytime and have a great laugh. Though you are missed here, I know it's because of work though.
It Kris777, what can I say but, keep everyone guessing..... Grin
To all the many Christians here, keep it up. You are all great in your own ways to me. Even though I disagree with some of you.

I pray that everyone has a safe, and enjoys new years eve and day. As many of you know, I have you in my prayers. I will keep praying for you, that God heals you, and helps you as needed  for each of you.

In the mean time, to borrow a phrase from beeps.
KEEP LOOKING UP!

May Jesus See Each Of You A Happy New Year!

1 Samuel 4:5 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth resounded.
Resting in the hands, of the Lord.
Bob

Psalm 32:11 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you [uncompromisingly] righteous [you who are upright and in right standing with Him]; shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Brothers and Sisters,

I'm glad that we are each sharing the burdens on our hearts right now, and I hope that many others will join in. We have a good start for a 2006 prayer request list.

Brother Roger, I'm happy that you mentioned the young men and women serving in our armed forces and protecting our freedom. They have been and always be in my prayers, along with many others who give of themselves to serve others. There will always be a special place in my heart for men and women who put their very lives and bodily well-being on the line for others.

Maybe this is also a good time to find all of our prayer request lists, combine them, and update them for the new year. If some of you are like me, you have lists and notes in several locations. I'll speak just for me and say that I need those lists to help my memory. This will be a perfect opportunity for some of you young folks to pick on and have some fun with the older folks.  Cheesy  YES, we remember that you might have something to do with selecting our retirement facilities. BUT, just remember that we know how to cause trouble, and we just might spend your inheritance. Grin

Let's never forget an inheritance that will always be kept whole and intact:

Colossians 1:12-14 NASB  giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 139:16 NASB  Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.

Yup, I got my list right here next to me and it's growing, now is a good time to make that list. I welcome everyone to put in the requests now while I have my list here. I know that during the year we also have hundreds of prayer requests, not just from the forum, but from family, friends and fellow church members, that is why it's good to have a prayer list.

Brothers and Sisters,

I got very happy news for the first day of 2006. My daughter is going to make me a grandpa again!!!!  YEAH!!!!

I know that children are a GIFT from GOD, and I give thanks that GOD has been so good to me and my family. Right now I am simply reflecting on very happy times with the birth of other grandchildren. I'm also thinking about our prayers for several young mothers who are having some problems with babies yet to be born. It is a joy to pray for all of them, and I would appreciate you adding my daughter to the prayer list. I wouldn't say that she has had big problems in previous births, but she did have a C-section for the last boy she gave birth to.

I'm also thinking about the miracles of life that only God can give. I am in awe and amazed with the Creation of GOD. We see HIS handiwork everywhere we look in nature, but looking at a baby is special: another wonderful child made in the image of GOD. It's a lot of responsibility, but all of that is a matter of joy. I was just thinking about a comparison between parents and Christians. A new Christian is re-born, not of the flesh, but of the Spirit. If we pay attention to the Holy Bible, we have a lot of responsibilities as a Christian, but all is a matter of joy if we yield to the Will of God. If we continue to do good as a parent or a Christian, we will grow weary from time to time, but the joy of the labor and GOD gives us strength to continue. It's a good kind of tired when you get to the end of a day, but there is joy in the morning to begin anew. When I use the term "good", I'm not talking about the definitions of men, rather the definitions of God in the Holy Bible.

I will remain in prayer for the young parents with children and those about to have children. The responsibilities are awesome, but God will lead and guide them if they allow Him to. I hope and pray that they do just that and bring their children up in the LORD.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Philippians 1:9-11 NASB  And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;  having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Psalms 143:8 NASB  Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul.

Galatians 5:22-25 NASB  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

Proverbs 14:26 NASB  In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And his children will have refuge.

Acts 2:39 NASB  "For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself."

Proverbs 3:11-12 NASB  My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD Or loathe His reproof, For whom the LORD loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Galatians 6:9-10 NASB  Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
