Don't worry about the fancy stuff. That will become easier with time. Here's a hint for you. If you want the font to be bold, press the "B" on the top line of the Add YABBC tags to the left. You will get something that looks like this:
If you want to see the bold show up, you will have to start typing in the dead center of the brackets between the two "b's". The same is true of font, size, and color. You should be able to get the smiley faces without doing anything at all, just click the face you want, do a couple of spaces or a carriage return, and keep typing. You can use the preview command on the bottom of the message editor to see if you missed something. If you see the YABBC tag commands, you missed something. The preview showed this example works, and I hope it does because I don't think the modify is working now. You should see the bold YABBC tag commands because I didn't type anything inside the command. If I typed something inside the command, the bold YABBC tag commands should disappear and simply show the bold text you typed. I hope this helps, and I hope it works.
