America Is Our Land, Christianity Is Our Religion, If That Offends You, Leave

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma School officials remove "God Bless America" signs from schools in fear that someone might be offended. Channel 12 News in Long Island New York, orders flags removed from the newsroom and red, white, and blue ribbons removed from the lapels of reporters. Why? Management did not want to appear biased and felt that our nations flag might give the appearance that "they lean one way or another." Berkeley, California bans U.S. Flags from being displayed on city fire trucks because they didn't want to offend anyone in the community. In an a "act of tolerance" the head of the public library at Florida Gulf Coast University ordered all "Proud to be an American" signs removed so as to not offend international students.

I, for one, am quite disturbed by these actions of so-called American citizens; and I am tired of this nation worrying about whether or not we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on September 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americas. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled in New York and Washington D. C. when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. In fact, our country's population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants; however, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some native Americans, need to understand.

First of all, it is not our responsibility to continually try not to offend you in any way. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, and our own lifestyle. This culture, called the "American Way" has been developed over centuries of struggled, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. Our forefathers fought, bled, and died at places such as Bunker Hill, Antietam, San Juan, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Korea, & Vietnam. I am proud of every one of them.

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some off-the-wall, Christian, Right Wing, political slogan-it is our national motto. It is engraved in stone in the House of Representatives in our Capitol and it is printed on our currency. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principled, founded this nation; and this is clearly documented throughout our history, If it is appropriate for our motto to be inscribed in the halls of our highest level of Government, then it is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. God is in our pledge, our National Anthem, nearly every patriotic song, and in our founding documents. We honor His birth, death, and resurrection as holidays, and we turn to Him in prayer in time of crisis. If God offends you. then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture and we are proud to have Him.

We are proud of our heritage and those who have so honorably defended our freedoms. We celebrate Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Flag Day. We have parades picnics, and barbecues where we proudly wave our flag. As an American, I have the right to wave my flay, sing my national anthem, quote my national motto, and recite my pledge whenever and wherever I choose. If the Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. The American culture is our way of life, our heritage, and we are proud of it. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. We are Americans, like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion about our government, culture, or society, and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom, the right to leave. Has The Media Become The Number One Threat To Democracy and Christianity?

 America has always been the greatest country on earth and lets hope and pray it will always be so. But there are some ominous signs on the horizon. The Christian based democracy that our forefathers instituted is under attack by many groups who want to remove all traces of it. Their destructive work can be seen in the halls of Congress, the Government, the Courts and America's institutions.

But, perhaps, the greatest threat to our way of life is the Main Stream Media. Ironically, in the early days of American history the media was the "watch dog" that played a major role in preserving both its' Christian Heritage and Democracy. But those were the days of patriotism and principles. Today, Political Correctness and Goblism have taken their places. Those who control the media today are ultra liberal democrats. The main stream media has been hijacked by leftwing radicals that have a very different agenda than their forefathers.

For the last three decades the media has had a liberal slant. But only recently have they removed all traces of pretended balance. You may say, just because they are liberal democrats, how is that a danger to Democracy and Christianity? The answer is simple. They totally ignore one side and play up the other. They know that 73% of the population get their information about politics, government, culture and the economy from them. So they tell them only what they want them to know.

Through out the Clinton years, the media became a protector of his illegal and unethical activities. When Billy Dale and others who had been in charge of the White House travel schedule for several administrations were fired on trumped up charges so Hillary could put her liberal cohorts in their place (and that was later proved true) the media ignored it. After the conservative press uncovered it, the big networks and the major press treated it only as another fumble by the inexperienced White House. When the Clinton White House illegally obtained FBI files of over 900 Republicans, to use as black mail against them, the media, instead ,of reporting their illegal shenanigans, covered for them. When the Clinton/Gore Administration allowed Red China access to our most sensitive security secrets for campaign money, which was an act of treason, the media treated it as if it was something that happened in every administration and then mostly looked the other way. Instead of the Media investigating the seriousness of it and explaining it to the American people, they drummed up the "campaign finance reform" issue. Then they jumped on the conservative Republicans for not supporting it. Again, when the President used military strikes (the aspirin factory in Somalia) to divert attention from his own scandals, the media attacked the Republicans for not being more supportive. When the President was impeached for perjury in his affair with Monica Lewinsky, the media called the Congress "mean-spirited" and "extremists". And so it went lie after lie, scandal-after-scandal, smear after smear and they looked the other way or blamed others. What would have happened if a Christian conservative had been President in place of the L.L.L. Bill Clinton? You know the answer! That poor fellow would have been ridiculed, lambasted and viciously attacked day after day after day. They would have had the American people mad enough to lynch him.

Never was the media's liberal agenda more prevalent than just before, during and after the November  election. While the Presidential Campaign was in full swing, the major networks led by Dan rather, Peter Jennings, Tom Brokoff and other media stars totally ignored the plunging stock market and the declining economy. Why? Because these stories would have damaged Al Gore, Hillary Clinton and other liberal candidates. They allowed Hillary Clinton to avoid all interviews and embarrassing questions. Did you notice how they praised Joe Lieberman for his "faith" after attacking George W. Bush for his? During the Florida recount they ignored numerous cases of fraud and incompetence and continued to emphasize that every vote should be counted, never mind that every vote had already been counted three times. And what about, how they allowed Jesse Jackson to get away with outrageous and inflammatory racist charges that Jeb Bush and the Republicans conspired to "disenfranchise" black voter in Florida? Did you notice how the media followed him around to give free exposure and credibility? Just suppose Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell had been stirring up the whites as Jesse did the blacks! You got it! Those two ministers would have been "tarred and feathered" then condemned as "right-wing bigots."

Now with George W. Bush is the president, you see how quickly the media changes roles from White House protectors to White House attackers. Watch how they do a drum beat on the falling economy and how they manage to blame George W. Bush for it; and watch how the naive American people believe it. As a matter of fact, some already think the declining economy is Bush's fault and were blaming him even before he took office  years ago.

Also watch how the media will blame Bush and the conservatives in Congress for every dip in the stock market, every time there is a increase in gas prices, every drop in home sales and every death in the Middle East. Any allegation of scandal against the Bush White House or the conservative leadership, the media will automatically except as Gospel, no matter how ridiculous.

The media's main function is suppose to get truthful and honest information to the people. But the Main Steam Media can no longer be relied on for that. Democracy cannot survive without it. For the survival of Christianity, we need not worry about that, the Bible assures us we will survive. The question is how it survives. Will it be in the open market of the culture and in a free democracy or in the secret places of the catacombs?
