It is contended by many that ours is a Christian government, founded upon the Bible, and that all who look upon the book as false or foolish are destroying the foundation of our country. The truth is, our government is not founded upon the rights of gods, but upon the rights of men. Our Constitution was framed, not to declare and uphold the deity of Christ, but the sacredness of humanity. Ours is the first government made by the people and for the people. It is the only nation with which the gods have had nothing to do. And yet there are some judges dishonest and cowardly enough to solemnly decide that this is a Christian country, and that our free institutions are based upon the infamous laws of Jehovah.

1. We only need this post ONCE, ok.

2. The Country may have not been founded on the rights of man, but the ideas where taken from the Moral if the Bible.

3. The Judges are a part of the Judicial Branch of the Government, and sense we are talking about rights, it is their right as members of the Judicial Branch to impetrate the law as they see fit.

Oklahoma Howdy to Underground,

One can still look at just about any text involving American history and see the opposite of your quote proven. Congress directed the first English printing of the Holy Bible in America, and the Holy Bible was a primary reading text in public schools for almost 200 years. Further, most of our laws and the fabric of our society was based on the Holy Bible and Christian principles.

Take a look at the following for a tiny sample:

http://www.sirinet.net/~blkidps/church.html

If you wish to spend several years scratching the surface of the proof, go to the online version of the Library of Congress. There is overwhelming proof that America was founded as a Christian Nation for a Christian people, and the founding fathers intended it to stay that way. The Holy Bible has been shoved out of most American classrooms for about 50 years, but the HOLY BIBLE may return.
