Thanks DW, I love eagles they remind me of the Scripture in Isaiah.
There are actually hundreds of eagles in my neighborhood, I just love to watch them soar high in the sky. And I thank God He has allowed me to live in a place where I can see them and glorify Him.

There are so many eagles around here. The first time I saw one upclose was when I first moved here in June, he swooped down into a fountain at the entrance to the area I live in, I was so thrilled. Then one day I was sitting out on the porch and I saw a Hawk sitting on the fence, I don;t know what kind it was all I know is it was huge and he was sort of like a very light brown, almost tan and he had a beautiful spotted design. He use to sit on the fence everyday about 4pm, I haven't seen him for about 2 months now.

The hawk, sounds like a Rough-legged Hawk, or a Broad-winged Hawk, it may also be a falcon.

It  was beautiful, my husband and I saw it on the fence one day and we slowly walked as quietly as we could so I could get a closer look at it and I only got up to about 20 feet from it, then he just flew away.

Sister Maria,

You are most welcome. I'm glad that you like it. I think that I told you that the picture came from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. I doubt that many people know that there are hundreds of thousands or millions of incredible photos in the National Archives. AND, I've always thought that the eagle is a beautiful and majestic example of God's Creation.

Love in Christ,
Tom

Can you send me a link? I want to add some to my collection for my screen saver, I also love horses if you know where I can get free ones of horses and whales and dolphins. I just love nature pictures.

Hello Sister Maria,

Here's the link for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Digital Library System:

http://images.fws.gov/

It is massive, and they say that they are still working on the search functions. I'm really not sure about horses, whales, and dolphins, but there are millions of pictures in the National Archive from all over the world. Government pictures were taken for just about every project ever done around the world (i.e. military bases, docks, harbors, etc.). I think you could eventually find just about any type of picture you might like, and they are all free, public domain pictures because they were taken by U.S. Government employees and paid for by taxpayers. If you look at other photo libraries, you will see pretty quickly that some libraries are expensive and have all kinds of rules.

Here's another good one:  Public Domain Images

http://www.pdimages.com/

Here's a great one - National Archives On line

http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/index.html

Sister, there are a maze of links to various government agencies. It would take the rest of your life to look at all the pictures unless things have drastically changed since I used the above links. HAVE FUN!

Love In Christ,
Tom
