ACLU inflicts lots of damage on U.S.

It appears I've stirred up a hornet's nest at the Maine Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union with my letter dated Aug. 2. In it, I stressed how the Bridge for Peace group and the ACLU have much in common.

Josh Ruebner, the Maine chapter spokesman for the ACLU asked me to be more specific on the damage the ACLU is causing our nation.

It helped remove our Nativity scenes from Christmas. It was instrumental in removing prayer and Bible study from schools. Yet its members see nothing in a student walking up to a condom machine in the hallways. They keep defending the career criminals and would like to legalize prostitution, a negative factor that would help erode the sacred vows of marriage so vital for an emotionally stable society.

Our First Amendment rights are threatened by the ACLU turning them upside down. Laws are introduced without our prior knowledge -- laws that would never be voted for by Americans in a voting booth. They're redefining laws that we live by.

Laws are being passed by liberal judges who interpret their own meaning in a law they judge on. Many are followers of the ACLU agendas, and they're in positions of power.

The ACLU likes to attach itself to causes that disrupt the flow of mainstream America, and it's attacking the Achilles tendon of our heritage. The ACLU is well organized, committed and dangerous for the future of America.
