Pledge of Allegiance Unconstitutional
«

The courts have finally done it. They have ruled that it is unconstitutional to say the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. I don't have all the details as there is nothing on it on the internet yet. I just heard it announced on Fox News and they didn't have all the details on it yet either.
I would not doubt that it was due to the "One Nation Under God" clause.

Hello Pastor Roger,
I might have heard the same news clip. If I understand this correctly, this currently applies only to California and it will most certainly be appealed.
This is a worst case example of judges so arrogant and out of control that they think they are a ruler instead of a public servant. I would hope this judge who thinks he's a law maker gets to eat his opinion. If not, it's time for a Constitutional Convention where the people of America will reaffirm our founding principles in a language and manner that takes all the wiggle room out of what the American people expect and demand. If this becomes necessary, a host of issues should be addressed. This list would be rather large, but several stand out in my mind right now:
1) massive tort reform, limited to actual damages only - eliminating punitive damages except in rare cases;
2) elimination of the ACLU and like organizations receiving a penny of taxpayer dollars, thus also eliminating their bullying power of any organization or individual in this country;
3)
FREEDOM OF RELIGION etched in granite and 60 years of ultra-liberal work erased forever. This would obviously include God, prayer, and American History back in our public schools.
Love In Christ,
Tom

You're right brother, it was the ninth judicial court. The ninth judicial has the largest record of over turns by the Supreme Court. It is my hope and prayer that this one gets over turned also.
Federal Judge Rules Pledge Unconstitutional
Wednesday, September 14, 2005
SAN FRANCISCO — Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance (search) in public schools was ruled unconstitutional Wednesday by a federal judge who granted legal standing to two families represented by an atheist who lost his previous battle before the U.S. Supreme Court.
U.S. District Judge Lawrence Karlton (search) ruled that the pledge's reference to one nation "under God" violates school children's right to be "free from a coercive requirement to affirm God."
Karlton said he was bound by precedent of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which in 2002 ruled in favor of Sacramento atheist Michael Newdow (search) that the pledge is unconstitutional when recited in public schools.
The Supreme Court dismissed the case last year, saying Newdow lacked standing because he did not have custody of his elementary school daughter he sued on behalf of.
Newdow, an attorney and a medical doctor, filed an identical case on behalf of three unnamed parents and their children. Karlton said those families have the right to sue.
Karlton, ruling in Sacramento, said he would sign a restraining order preventing the recitation of the pledge at the Elk Grove Unified, Rio Linda and Elverta Joint Elementary school districts, where the plaintiffs' children attend.
The decision sets up another showdown over the pledge in schools.
The The Becket Fund, a religious rights group that is a party to the case, said it would immediately appeal the case to the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. If the court does not change its precedent, the group would go to the Supreme Court.
"It's a way to get this issue to the Supreme Court for a final decision to be made," said fund attorney Jared Leland.
Newdow, reached at his home, was not immediately prepared to comment.

Lucifer loves Michael Newdow, and Lucifer may have eternity to dance with his pawn unless Newdow and Satan's other chess-pieces recognize TRUTH and confess Jesus.
As we pray for immunity from Newdow's actions, we should/would/will/shall/must pray for Newdow's eternal life.
Saul/Paul. Newdow/Newday? Hey - it could happen. It's happened before. Wouldn't that be cool! Pray.
(If Newdow were to be saved, the mainstream media would drop him quicker'n a squirrel crossin' the interstate.)

AMEN!
I still think sending the

to China is the best choice for them.
