I'm sorry, I didn't know where to put this topic, so if this is in the wrong section, please move it. Here's what's bothering me. Canada just passed the law where gay marriage is ok. Now, my question is this. If a gay couple go to a certain Church and tell the pastor they want Him to marry them and he says no, that he doesn't support that, can they then go cry to their goverment that their civil rights have been rejected? How does this work? Sorry, I'm ignorant how this works.

Hello Sammi.

Don't be sorry my friend, you ask a legitimate question.

The answer is a bit foggy at the moment. Our government leaders assured us that no one's religious freedoms would be affected negatively because of this gay marriage bill. That is not truthful. As I pointed out in another thread, there are already pending court cases where gay rights activists are chomping at the bit to enhance their rights to the point where they have the same "rights" as any other citizen to choose which pastor/priest they want to marry them. They want the same rights as anyone else to choose which church to be married in. Mark my words, they will get what they're after.

The government opened a Pandora’s box when they passed the gay marriage bill. The bill was presented and passes under the premises that all citizens regardless of religion or sexual orientation deserve the same rights. So, if heterosexual couple has a constitutional right to be married, so then must a homosexual couple. If a heterosexual couple has a right to choose any church and any pastor or priest to marry them, so then do homosexual couples. This is what the courts will have to rule, now that gay marriage is legal.

Our leaders knew this going in, and lied about it.
People are losing their jobs because they refused to marry gay couples. People are losing their jobs because they have Christian beliefs, which are contrary to homosexual beliefs.
Tolerance? My foot! This so-called "tolerance" is one sided. We must tolerate gays, but they do not have to tolerate us!

There "rights" supersede our right of religious freedom. Even though the homosexuals represent a tiny minority in our society, there rights have broken the backs of all Christian rights of freedom of religion, and it has only just begun.

These are the end of days my friend. Soon Jesus will call us from the clouds and we will join Him there on our way to a seven-year vacation in Heaven!

Are you Canadian Bronzesnake?  I'm just wondering because you would then know better than I how this is affecting the Churches, or will affect the Churches there. Do you think it's going to be another Australia, as in the right to bear arms backfiring down there? It is getting very close to the end I agree. Things like this seem to be speeding the time of Christs return rapidly. Yay! Although for the time being, it's getting ridiculous to watch basic morality slip so far from sight. Undecided

Could you please tell me what the other thread is called and where to find it? I am talking with some Canadians on another forum about this issue. (non-Christians) and would like to see what you have to say about it. They don't believe that people are or could lose their jobs or Churches could face discrimination charges over this. Thanks Bronzesnake.
