and separation from the world. They understand we are in the world – not of the world, and they successfully practice what they preach. Their biggest problems seem to be conflicts with buggies and automobiles, and whether they (the Amish) must use big orange triangles or simple reflective tape on their vehicles of choice.
And here’s one for you: Did you know that the ACLU consistently sides with the Amish on issues of religious liberties? That fact floored me! I think the trick to keeping the ACLU out of one's hair is to make sure you don’t have atheists or Wiccans (liberals
) in the community!! I wonder how one would accomplish
THAT feat? Maybe we should take ‘Amish 101’.
