More prophesy coming true?

Co-op bank bars Christian group
BBC News 24 June, 2005

The Co-operative Bank says it respects 'all sectors of society'

The Co-operative Bank has asked an evangelical Christian group to close its account because of its anti-homosexual views.
The bank said the opinions of Christian Voice were incompatible with its support for diversity.
Christian Voice said the bank, based in Manchester, was discriminating against it on religious grounds.
It is now waiting for other religious groups with similar opinions to be asked to close accounts, it added.
Christian Voice has held an account with the Co-operative Bank for about three years.
It has come to the bank's attention that Christian Voice is engaged in discriminatory pronouncements based on the grounds of sexual orientation.
But now the bank has decided the group's stance on homosexuality is so extreme, it has asked members to look for a new bank.
"It has come to the bank's attention that Christian Voice is engaged in discriminatory pronouncements based on the grounds of sexual orientation," a spokesman for the bank said.
"This public stance is incompatible with the position of the Co-operative Bank, which publicly supports diversity and dignity in all its forms for our staff, customers and other stakeholders."
The decision was based "purely on the issue of diversity" and not "on the grounds of religion", the spokesman added.
The Co-op bank, for all its fine words, is discriminating against us on the grounds of conscience and religion
Christian Voice
The evangelical organisation says it now expects the bank to inform other Christian, Muslim and Jewish groups that they will not be able to bank there on the grounds that they all share the same view on homosexuality.
National director Stephen Green said: "The Co-op bank, for all its fine words, is discriminating against us on the grounds of conscience and religion."
Christian Voice first came under the spotlight earlier this year when it took on the BBC over its the decision to screen controversial musical Jerry Springer - The Opera.
Christian Voice complained the show was blasphemous and portrayed Jesus as a "sexual deviant".

The decision was based "purely on the issue of diversity" and not "on the grounds of religion", the spokesman added.
What a bald-faced lie.

What a bald-faced lie.

The devil is in control of the world, but Christ will have HIs way with him eventually. What is so wonderful is we, now in the midst of all this, have Christ's way and the hope of its promise to His. Hallelujah, what a saviour. Thank you dear God for touching our hearts to come to Jesus Christ.

As someone from the UK, how come this does not surprise me in the slightest? Things are changing so much over here and the PC brigade are winning the day.
I hope that all God fearing Christians who bank with this particualar bank will close down their accounts and move there money elsewhere.
It angers me how Christians in the UK just roll over and accept these things without making any noise whatsoever about it. Even if it was just a letter. At least they are putting there point across and letting the powers to be know how they feel.

Hmmmm... I could have swore you were talking about Canada! Must be a Commonwealth thing cuz Christians here are quire apathetic. I mean, our government just legislated abomination, same sex marriage!!!! I'm waiting to hear God's call on this one. I know it'll probably be one of two things. Either the Christians in this country will finally be woken up and called to action, or we'll be impressed upon to leave. So if you hear of an exodus from Canada, you know God has given the country over for judgement.

And on that "deversity" thing. Since when did "diversity" become a higher ideal than morality?

Beware the homosexual agenda my brothers and sisters. They are the ones who most want Christianity removed from existence so they don't have to hear the judgement of their lifestyle. (Note I said the lifestyle and not the person).
