Are they evil even though they're helping solve crimes and putting the murderers behind bars?

CNN's "Nancy Grace" interviewed a psychic detective last night, so thought I'd bring up the subject.

Did anyone see that program?

Any comments?

Now THIS is a good topic! I’m surprised we haven’t brought it up till now.

Me, I’m under the interpretation that for everything The Kingdom of Heaven has, Satan has a counterfeit. Prophecy is no different.

Also it maybe it that Psychic power is a Physical power, not a spiritual one, and we all give it different names to explain it, like the force or something. I don’t believe thi,ss it is just fun to think about.

I do know this, it is a very real power people can produce. I personally know of several isolated incidence of Psychics complaining about not getting readings with a Church next door.

I didn't see or hear about the story on CNN. However, I would like to as if preminitions are the same.
Do you know God can use anyone to get a message acorss.

Haven't you ever experienced something that was going to happen and you never shared it, but waited to see the outcome.

I think that is a true way. When you say Psychic...that makes

me scratch my head.

God has warned my mom and her brother of things that where going to happen.  One Christmas, my mom came in the living room and said that God told her that we should spend as much time together as possible that Christmas because that would be the last Christmas the whole family were together.  
That next Christmas 7 people were missing.  One whole family because of the death of a spouse, a divorce, kept one from coming etc.  So God did talk to my mom.

On the other hand you have to be careful of these people who are on T.V.  Especially those who claim to talk to the dead, which the Bible says is a sin.

This is my understanding of it.

In the secular world these people are called psychics.
In the religious world they are called prophets.

I believe they have a heightened sense of the spiritual realm, be they prophets or psychics.  I also think those "in the world" were born to use this gift to serve God, but unfortunately they're still in the world and not in the Kingdom.
Can God use them even though they aren't saved?  Of course!  I'm not quite sure how He does though.  I wouldn't want to deal with them on any level, just because they aren't saved.

I think we all have this ability to some degree. It's usually more so in women than men for some odd reason.  Some of us are more aware of it than others, and tend to develop it, just because we are aware------hopefully for God's glory.

The word, "psychic"-------that's what they're called, so ya can quit scratchin' yer head .

Premonitions ARE a part of it.

Yeah, there is one fellow on TV that talks to the dead.  At least everyone thinks he does.  From what I've read, these people are actually talking to what is called a "familiar spirit"; they aren't the dead loved ones people think they are.

This brings up a very interesting topic. Some Christians do not believe in such things, say they are not real, however, if they are not real, why is it is sin? Thanks for bringing it up, Betty, I had forgotten about that. A very interesting thing to think about.

The Bible is clear, these things are real, but that does not make them good.
