Hi,

I would like to know, has anyone done an indepth study on dealing with depression from God's word?

If so, I would like to read what God has given to you through your studies. Has it made a difference in your life. Do you know where to go in scriptures if you should have down time
in your spirit.

Looking forward,

Psalms are good.

I would guess reading the book of Job doesn't help depression.

At risk of drawing considerable attention, My wife and I both suffer from depression. I (due to work restrictions) can not take meds for it. I do quite well as long as I maintain focus and rely on God. I tend to really apply myself sometimes too much to keep from getting sucked back by the depression. My wife has to be medicated. Our marriage nearly ended because of her depression and lack of faith. now with the meds she is more stable and has found a relationship with Christ. Without the meds......hard to say if she could have resisted the sin life. She always looked for the "new and exciting" things. Not saying that she couldn't survive and maintain without the meds but after 2 days off them she is nearly unbearable.

So it really does depend on if you have mild sympdoms (like myself) or a more serious chemical imbalance. Some will say that true belief will cure you. I can site a few cases over the years that show real honest believers that nearly killed a child or did, because they believed. MY opinion is that the world may rely on meds too much but that in some cases they are necesary. Depends on the case. Talk to your doctor and have a good support group if you go it med free. People that love you and are willing to help you try befor just letting you give in.

M & Rookie,

I must not have given the right statement. I'm not discussing

personal issues. I strickly was asking about scripture cases,

if any. Like a story, or people.  What was their outcome or

what solutions did God give them.

Thanks Rookie for being so open, but you did not have to

share that.  However,  it does give me someone to pray for

think about at lunch time.  Let's pray for one another.

I will do some searching to see.  I have a hard time reading

anything now.  My mind works constantly for 8hrs straight of

reading on my job.  So, I like not to read when I get home.

This could be God's way of trying to help me seek him more.
