Requesting prayers for my wife. She is 50 yrs old and having to go through numerous surgeries in the next ayer. The first one will be 5 May for knee replacement. Later it will be for the other knee and at least one hip. These surgeries are necessary as she has no cartilage left in these joints. To complicate the surgery she has severe asthma and fibromyalgia.

The last surgery she had she stopped breathing and took quite a while to resuscitate making her high risk for any surgery.

I will be praying Pastor Roger, as I know how well fibromyalgia, flares up.

Pastor Roger,

Brother, I will definitely be praying for you and your wife. They can do wonders now with joint replacement. I will pray that God gives the doctors skill for the best possible treatment. Maybe your wife is like mine. My wife is very sensitive to the medications they use to put people to sleep. The doctors knew this on her last surgery, and things went very smoothly.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Thank you all for the prayers.

She went in for a preop physical today. The Dr thinks that her problem with prior surgeries was due to asthma so they are not going to put her completely under this time. He said they were going to use medications to make her drowsy with a local instead which he does for all asthma patients. He said there is less chance of an asthma patient having an attack and stop breathing in the middle of surgery with this method.

It has her worried that she will be able to know what is happening this way though. She said "I don't want to know what their doing!"

    Pastor Roger,

I'm praying for your wife and for you and your family my friend. My mother in law lives with us and had both knees replaced a couple years ago. I remember all to well the pain she experienced before her knee replacements. I know that your wife must be experiencing the same agony of bone rubbing against bone, pinching nerves.

I also know that the road to recovery is long and painfull but after all is said and done, your wife will find relief for her pain. I pray that everything will go well and that she will recover fully and be able to enjoy life again.

There is nothing like seeing someone you love suffer in pain. I pray everything will turn out for the better for you and your family.

Keep us informed of how things are going and know that we are praying for your wife and for your family as well.

just some thoughts, my mother and law is 76yrs old just went through very similiar stuff 4-6 months after the operations she thought it wasnt worth it . she was have a bad time with rehab. now its been 13 months and she walking and doing things she couldnt do 5 yrs ago and shes very happy. for awhile she was getting into a depressed state . so try to remember its not going to be fast recovery but should be worth it. lots of luck  butcha

Thanks Butcha. I needed to hear that right now as my wife is having a really hard time of it. The surgery was yesterday. She had an allergic reaction to the spinal block they gave her. It made her itch and wouldn't let her keep anything down. She is past that today but the pain killers havn't helped with the pain. They have tried 9 different ones with no relief yet.

The Dr wants her up today but until the pain is under control that isn't happening.
