Shylynne,
I think that most Christians will agree with part of this article and disagree with part of this article. Each Christian may also agree or disagree on different portions.
HIS WORD, the Holy Bible, is a SWORD! Every Christian who picks it up will be cut. They should be cut, and they are cut in many different ways with a varying list of reasons why they are cut.
The world is trying to get many portions of the Holy Bible labeled as hate speech, mainly because they don't like specific insults and straight talk about what they are doing that is wrong and sin. Many men are already trying to change God's Word by putting out new translations that are more politically correct and gentle toward people who want their behavior approved by the Holy Bible. Many of these translations are already out, but the undiluted down WORD of GOD remains. The behavior that was sin is still sin, regardless of the content in newer translations.
The new translations that make almost everything OK are not doing any favors for the lost. The knowledge of what's wrong and sin is the schoolmaster that leads to Jesus. If there is no sin and everything is OK, Jesus would have died on the Cross in vain. Every Christian should quickly agree that Jesus did not die on the Cross in vain. Darkness and wallowing in sin is no longer the master over Christians, and each sin hurts not only the Christian, but Jesus also and THE BODY OF CHRIST.
Now we come to what many Christians may disagree with. What about those professing Christians who proudly defy God, wallow in sin and darkness with it being their master, yet proclaim Christ at the same time. There will be many varying opinions about this paragraph, many probably relating to the times, being more politically correct, or many other issues of men,
NOT GOD! Each Christian can arrive at their own opinions, but the only opinion that matters is God's. Some men want to take the cutting edge off of God's Word, and make it kinder, more gentle, and more accepting to the behavior many people wish to continue in without rebuke. If they are holding a Bible translation that accomplishes this mission, they are not holding the Holy Bible.
Sister, please don't think that my post is directed at anyone, including the author of the article. I simply think and hope this represents part of the discussion this article should generate. I also think this article should cut every Christian in one way or another, but it doesn't have the cutting edge and power of the Holy Bible.
Sister, I hope this two cents worth is what you expected or wanted in the discussion of this article. It's in the debate area, so I assume that you wanted discussion. I think that you probably know already that I'm one of those who will keep and use the old KJV as my primary Bible study tool. I'll also quickly admit that I've never had much interest in being politically correct. I already pray regularly about being too bold and blunt, and that's what I got out of the article again for me.
So, everyone throw a rock at me and start the next post here.

Love In Christ,
Tom
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
