Acts 10:34.  Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
 35.  But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

2Cr 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

To fear God is  to reconize  His Sovereignty, to know nothing in our lives is hidden from Him.  All the reigns of our hearts, all of our thoughts, our conversation, our plans, our actions, our agendas, our priorities,  our stewarship, our security, our dreams, our comfort, our possessions, our needs, our desires, are tried by Him, and must meet His approval.

God`s  sovereignty demands that He be more than a simple belief, or a doctrine, or focal point of theology, but He must be a burning presence in our lives, one that cleanses and perfects and prepares us for fellowship with Him, for we know sin cannot abide in His presence, for our God is a Holy God.
