Hi im crystal and i am almost 17, i have been dating this guy for a lil over 2 months, but he isnt christian he is agnostic. I dont really know if it is right to be with him, sometimes i stay away from God when im around him, I talked to him about it and he told me he is closer to god then he was before he meet me, but still strongly does not believe. He said he really wants to be with me so i said ok, but it is still weighing on my heart, i have prayed about it and stuff but i would still like to get some opnions.

God says that we are to be equally yoked to believers, not unbelievers. Not sure if I said that right as I am paraphrasing, but what it means is that you should be together with someone who is also a Christin like you. I'm not saying dump this guy or anything, but you need to do a lot of praying about this. Everything happens for a reason. Also, like someone else said, make sure and always put God first in your life. This will help a great deal as God is the ultimate shoulder to cry on.

Let me share a quick story that might help. When my wife and I met and then started dating, I was on fire for God and she was, well, not. She was saved, but had been back sliding for quite some time. I got so wrapped up in her that I started to put her before God and before I knew it, God wasn't even part of my life anymore (This is why we should be equally yoked to a believer (yoked meaning being together)). Anyway, to make a long story a little shorter, it has taken three years or so for me to get my life back on track. But in the process, my wife has come back to the Lord also. So I believe that God put Brandie in my life so that I could help lead her back to the Lord.

Hope that helps and welcome to ChristiansUnite.

God Bless,
Robert
