I 'member somewhere reading the stages of grief, or something like that, like there are five of them, I think, that a person goes through, in the grieving process.

I think one of them is 'denial'.  I think maybe another is 'resignation'.

I was just wondering, if anyone here knows what they are?

I have a reason, and will indicate that later, if I can figure out what those five stages of grief are.  Maybe.

Thank you.

My brother went through all those steps, and in that order while he was losing his battle with cancer.

The acceptance part part was eye opening for me and my brother. In the end, Jim accepted that he wasn't going to get out of the situation he was in. Then, he accepted Jesus for the first time in his 45 years.

What a wonderful, amazing God we have, that He would forgive us and welcome us home even when we have denied Him all our lives, and only called upon His name when we realize our time is near.

THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!

Thank you, sincereheart!   Smiley

Yes, thank you, Jesus, bronzesnake.   Undecided

I think BL considers it anti-theology; but it is practical.  It's just the stages we go through, in dealing with 'reality'.  I don't much like a lot of 'psychology' either, tho some of it is common sense and pratical.

I guess you could say all of Psalms is a revelation of those five stages(and vice versa).

They're really just a secular or pagan admission of man's humanity.  A tacit admission that we aren't immortal.  We die.

But it's very scriptural, too, actually.

*sigh*

I'm afraid all of us are losing, in our respective places, we just don't realize it.  With cancer, or other illness, it's more apparent.

I asked this original question here--these five steps sort of reminded me of what Jesus said about taking up our cross, and unless a seed first dies, it cannot grow.

Whether we live or die, all is to Jesus.  "To live is Christ," wrote Paul, "and to die great gain".

When we come to know Jesus, this five step process is perhaps one way of describing the "process" - genuine death to the old self...

Those are all the stages, I went through when I lost my wife. Only through the strength of the Lord, did I make it through. There are still times though, when depression rears it ugly head. Cry  When that happens I look to my Bible, to carry me through.

I wonder who/what the psychological world is bargaining with when for the most part 'they' do not believe in God?

Amen to that.

I met a Christian psychologist one time. He worked full time for a place where I worked. Never talked to him professionally (perhaps I should have?).

He was a real man of God and I understand that he used his beliefs in his therapy sessions.

Hmmm, I'm sorry to hear about your wife, DW.  Some here with significant losses.

Hmm.

Hmm.  Ooooo, Reba, very incisive.  Bargaining with the Betrayer of Men's souls, I suppose.

I think I'm still in the Anger mode most of the time.   Grin

Although Depression doesn't sound too bad either.

I like the scene of the tea party on the ceiling--you have to think of something 'sad' in order to come down--DIck van Dyke, in Mary Poppins.

   Huh
