Just thinking the Bible and Gospel and Jesus about comfort - comfort for us.  Our battle here about fear, faith and those two being a matter of focus.

That is, what we are focussed on, for us, is what our reality then is.

If we are focussed on fear, or the things that we fear, then that becomes our reality("...you shall not fear man, but God..." I think it says somewhere??).

If we are focused on faith, or on having faith, then that becomes our reality - having faith.

In other words, whatever it is we are focused on, becomes then our reality.

I'm thinking that's why Jesus spent so much time in prayer - quietly, remotely, sometimes away from the maddening crowd, etc.

He was having to constantly reassert, or 're-aim' His focus, lest He start fearing - or, at least fearing the wrong thing(s).

Thus His agony in the Garden, setting His face to go through with it, and getting His 'focus' aright with His Father - a willingness to surrender all.

And I'm thinking that's how we need to be beginning our days, everyday.

We never know when our 'day' is going to be 911 - just like it was for those folks having to jump out of the Twin Towers - or like being on a bus in downtown Jerusalem, seated next to a man with a backpack.

That is our 'comfort' food - on what we are focusing.

With the internet, and so much of our pschye being constantly bombarded, it's definitely not any easier than in was in Jesus' day - a competition for 'ownership' of our minds, brains and hearts...

Symphony,

Thank you so much for those words.

In the words of Christ,"sufficient for the day is the evil thereof". Matthew 6:34 We should start our day, go through our day, end our day with Him as you pointed out.

In Christian love,
