The World Cup is almost here! Russia and the U.S. have both been weakened by lost players. Canada hasn't. Canada was already the strongest country, but now they're really far ahead. They'll try to win with Martin Brodeur or Roberto Luongo in net and Mario Lemiuex leading the way.
The U.S. will most likely have young and essentially inexperienced Robert Esche in goal and are led by seasoned veterans like Brian Leetch, Keith Tkachuk, Tony Amonte, and Doug Weight.
All the big dogs predict Canada will win it all. Most of them also agree that Sweden will come in second. The U.S. are pretty low on the overall predictions, only above Slovakia and Germany.
Well, now that I'm done advertizing, it should be a great World Cup!

I don't know who will win, I haven't been watching TV at all. I only have rabbit ears and I cannot get much.

Well, the World Cup has officially started!
Everything got off well with Finland slaughtering the Czech Republic 4-0 yesterday. Finland outshot the Czech Republic 34-12. Miika Kiprusoff of the Calgary Flames stopped all 12 shots he faced in goal for Finland. Saku Koivu, Niko Kapanen, Jukka Hentunen, and Mikko Eloranta scored the goals. In goal for the Czech Republic was Tomas Vokoun of the Nashville Predators.
