I'm a llama!

I am trying to figure out where I stand with GOD at this point in my life.  I had finished 2 years at college, when I decided to join the ARMY and serve my country that I love.

After a little more than a month into Infantry school, I recieved a call from my mother and father.  I knew something must have been really wrong because you just don't get phone calls in boot camp.  My father had been diagnosed with Pancriatic Cancer, which is always terminal.  I was able to get honorable discharged and was able to spend the next 5 or so months with my father before he passed away on April 10th.

I know I have had many friends and strangers praying for me and my father, and I'm now living with some friends back at my college town.  I have had always believed in GOD where sometimes I thought I didn't when in Highschool.  And well now, I still feel I am missing something.  I have started to go to church with a friend well into christianity and the christain house on campus, where i enjoy singing in worship.

I suppose this post is to ask for prayer or a word or two of advice for someone feeling a little lost in life. I've always been a tough person, but this a wound where I have never felt its match.  At 21 I miss my father and his guidance a lot, and just need some help.

Thank you,
  Richie

I'm sorry to hear about your dad!  Undecided Though I'm sure it was good for you to spend those months with him!  Smiley

Sounds like you're searching in all the right places!

The Warrior is a Child

Lately I've been winning battles left and right
But even winners can get wounded in the fight
People say that I'm amazing, strong beyond my years
But they don't see inside of me, I'm hiding all the tears

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
Deep inside this armour - the warrior is a child.

Unafraid because His armour is the best
But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest.
People say that I'm amazing - never face retreat
But they don't see the enemies that lay me at His feet.

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and look up for a smile
'Cause deep inside this armour...

Deep inside this armour...
Deep inside this armour...
The warrior is a child.

Dear Richie,

I am so sorry about your father!  I am glad you had sometime to spend with him.  My own daddy took his life due to cancer that spread to his liver. I know how you feel honey, I will Pray for you.

Please Email me at anytime to KristiAnn's Email, and we can talk more if you like. I know grief is not fun, but you can find support here okay. Plus there are Hospice places that can and will help you!

I will Pray for you Richie!!  Grin

for someone feeling a little lost in life
As long as you know Jesus, you'll know "the way, the truth, and the life." He has your life in His hands. If this is a wound in which you have felt nothing of its match...then this experience is something very special to God because he intends it to shape you to His purpose.

You don't need to figure out where you stand with God at this point. All you need to know is that you have a relationship with Jesus right now. God is working in your life.
