Just a prayer note from this prayer warrior.

I know many people pray otherwise but...
MY bible tells me how to pray. It tells me I should pray to no god except the true and one real God. The Word also tells me to pray, ASKING in Jesus' name (name above all names!).

I never pray "rote" prayers (prayers from memory) but always pray/speak to God in plain, heart-connected words.

I always try to remember to praise Him for His goodness, glory, mercy... and give Him praises that He IS who He says He is!

I do not mean any of this as a slam, but rather as a re-direction or correction in course... I do NOT pray to saints, angels, dead relatives, Jesus' mom, the saints of old... or any thing, person, diety, totum, lucky-charm, etc. The ONLY one who can help me is God... and I know He is the one to pray to.

I set this before you all, not to incite but rather to bless. IF you can show me any scripture that disagrees with my prayer methods, please DO show them to me.

God bless all intercessors... God bless all people with a heart for God and His truth!

in Christ Jesus,
Deke

Jive4005,

AMEN!!!!

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  John 14:6

There are a host of beautiful Scriptures that make it clear that Jesus Christ is the MEDIATOR, the INTERCESSOR, our GREAT SHEPHERD, the LORD over our lives, and is our precious LORD AND SAVIOUR.

Love In Christ,

Indeed. At one point in my life, I was struggling with a problem so hard that I could not handle...nor were there anyone else who could help.  I was so sad that I just wanted to die. At that point, I knew I was utterly helpless in the world. No one could've helped me and I couldn't help myself. I was forced to realize that only one person could help me, God. And for me, that is how I know that only He is the one to pray to.

Yes!

That is what we as brothers and sisters in Christ must do for each other. Pray for one another. We do this all in Jesus's name who will intercede on behalf of us.

Felix102,

AMEN!!

God hears our prayers. I think one of the most important things to remember is our short journey on earth is just a blink of the eye. We are just traveling through, and our citizenship is in Heaven for eternity with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Thinking of everlasting peace and joy in Christ should help us remember that our trials here are nothing and just temporary. We can also remember that Jesus wants to walk every step with us until HE takes us home. Even in trials, Christians can and should say:

Thanks be unto God for HIS unspeakable GIFT!!!

KEEP LOOKING UP!!

Love In Christ,
Tom
