SEATED IN HEAVEN

God sees every believer in Christ as already in heaven. See what the Bible says about this:

"BUT GOD, WHO IS RICH IN MERCY, FOR HIS GREAT LOVE WHEREWITH HE LOVED US,

"EVEN WHEN WE WERE DEAD IN SINS, HATH QUICKENED US TOGETHER WITH CHRIST (BY GRACE YE ARE SAVED),

"AND HATH RAISED US UP TOGETHER AND MADE US SIT TOGETHER IN HEAVENLY PLACES IN CHRIST JESUS:

"THAT IN THE AGES TO COME HE MIGHT SHOW THE EXCEEDING RICHES OF HIS GRACE IN HIS KINDNESS TOWARD US THROUGH CHRIST JESUS" (Eph. 2:4-7).

Most sincere believers, poorly taught in the Word, are concerned about getting to heaven, but as far as God is concerned they are already there. They have been "made accept-ed in the Beloved" (Eph. 1:6). God has given them a position "in Christ."

We are well aware that most of God’s people know little about this experientially, but God says that as far as He is concerned, they are already in heaven, and this is what matters. As Christ took our place on Calvary’s cross, God now sees us in Christ, at His own right hand, the place of favor and honor. This is why the Apostle Paul says to believers in Christ:

"IF YE THEN BE RISEN WITH CHRIST, SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE ABOVE, WHERE CHRIST SITTETH ON THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD.

"SET YOUR AFFECTION ON THINGS ABOVE, NOT ON THINGS ON THE EARTH.

"FOR YE ARE DEAD, AND YOUR LIFE IS HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD" (Col. 3:1-3).

And all this by the free grace of God:

"WHO HATH SAVED US, AND CALLED US WITH AN HOLY CALLING, NOT ACCORDING TO OUR WORKS, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE, WHICH WAS GIVEN US IN CHRIST JESUS BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN" (II Tim. 1:9).

Our hearts go out to those of our readers who have not yet received this "gift of the grace of God." "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31).

Isn't this truly awesome! Everytime I read these verses I am just awestruck....

Thank you for posting this, may every believer come to realize the significance of these verses. What comfort, what joy. What a Savior we have.

And then to know...

"THAT IN THE AGES TO COME HE MIGHT SHOW THE EXCEEDING RICHES OF HIS GRACE IN HIS KINDNESS TOWARD US THROUGH CHRIST JESUS" (Eph. 2:4-7).

Just look at what Christ is going to do...for all eternity...for us. Overwhelmingly Awesome!

Brother Love:

I also agree with what you posted by Pastor Stam.

It is because of Pastor Stam that I heard my "first ever" dispensational message. I had not even heard the word before, and after one message, I became a dispensationalist.

Back in about 1964/65 I had attended a small church in South Chicago. They had no minister, at that time, and Pastor Stam was filling in. Also, it was my first visit to that church.

I had gone unchurched for many many years because the Bible was a contradictory book to me and I could not understand it.

After searching many denominational and undenominational chruches, I finally gave up on all of them, and even quit reading my Bible for fear of going crazy trying to figure it out.

That one Sunday morning Pastor Stam started a series on the book of the Acts. He did an overview of the book and answered all the questions that no one was ever able to answer for me. What I thought were contradictions were not that at all. It was transition from Law to Grace. I sat dumbfounded because I didn't even have to ask a question.

For years I had been in a dark room trying to find my way and all of a sudden a light came on.

I THANK GOD for Pastor Stam and men like him. I have and read all of his books and literature.

It is really good to find a forum which has "like minded" believers

AMEN Brother Love!!

As you know, I've read a lot from Pastor Stam for most of my live. Now, for a small world - My grand-dad knew him. I think that they met while my grand-dad attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago - 1920s I believe. One could only guess how many typewriters Pastor Stam wore out in his writing ministry. It's also interesting to note that many Gospel writers of that time had to learn to do type setting on old fashioned printing presses. They just didn't have the money or the time to do it any other way. That's how the Timely Messenger was done - by hand. Many of the pastors of that time worked 18 to 20 hour days.

It is absolute reality that a Promise of God can be spoken of as already done. That's just how sure it is. Pastor Stam had a natural Gift from God in his writing. He wrote a lot of common sense things that average people could understand. I think that's one of the reasons why his writing is still so popular today - it just makes sense and blesses those who read it. I would join the others in giving thanks for the work God wrought in Pastor Stam.

Love In Christ,
Tom
