Dean Koontz, "The Taking". (It's only out in hardcover right now...)
I just finished it. Read it - don't prejudge - don't ignor it just because Koontz has been pigeon-holed in a particular genre - don't make up your mind about it until you've read the last 5 pages - then get back to me.
Now it's on to Ted Dekker's latest - he just came out with book one of a trilogy....
