This is a subject I have recently become interested in.  I am wondering if anyone has had any experiences that lead them to believe that God was speaking to them through their dreams.  So far I have found many instances where God has communicated with people in the bible through their dreams.  I wonder how people feel about it today.

rtwyatt,
Do you consider angels God’s direct messengers? If so, the Bible is chock-full of folks being spoken to by God (or His direct representative).  Joseph and Mary come immediately to mind.  There are lots of others.
But there are also scores of instances where God Himself came and spoke in someone’s dreams:
Genesis 20:3
But God came to Abimelech in a dream one night and said to him, "You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman."
Genesis 20:6
Then God said to him in the dream, "Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her.
Genesis 31:11
The angel of God said to me in the dream, 'Jacob.' I answered, 'Here I am.'

That’s just scratching the surface.  Use Bible Gateway:

At the top type in ‘Search Keyword’ “dream” and be ready to read for a while…

God bless,

:)Hi rtwyatt, I think God has spoken to me in a million different ways in my life and quite often in dreams.  No, I have not seen any burning bushes per sa but countless times I have prayed for courage to face loss and physical pain and my own sins in the way God would have me to face these things.  Quite often those prayers were right before falling asleep at night and during the night I would dream something to help me.  For instance, when my only sister passed away, things had been very difficult between us for many years.  I felt loss and guilt for things I never said to her and some things that I had.  When I prayed and then fell asleep quite often my dreams would be about times we were together that were good and loving and those dreams were a great comfort to me.  I think that was God's way of comforting my pain but also I think he was telling me to remember the good between us and let go of the bad.  Now I know some will say this is my subconscience at work but the dreams could just have easily become nightmares about the bad times we had.  Since God knows our hearts and our minds I believe He speaks to both.  Sometimes in dreams, sometimes in seeing the way others behave and sometimes in fleeting thoughts that we don't even pay attention to.  I'd love to have all my messages delivered by angels but I will settle for any messenger He wants to send.

Yes, God speaks to us in dreams; in visions; through His word; in the still small voice, and a lot of other ways.

I don't usually stop long enough to hear that still small voice, but when my mind is in the depths of sleep, ahh, then can the Lord reach me with ease.

Funny thing about that; I used to dream all the time. Just my own dreams; fragments of nothing from my unconscious mind; bits of fluff or stress from my day.

There came a time when I suddenly stopped dreaming. Then came the first from God. He made the path clear and straight....and used what part of me He knew would listen.

Since then I've learned to stop and listen for His voice in a myriad of other ways, but still, sometimes......the dream.
