We both enjoy cuddling on the couch and watching a suspense filled scary movie, late at night after the kids have gone to bed. We don't neccesarily care for blood and gore (we can get that from the news), but a good thriller hits the spot.

My wife bought Cold Creek Manor the other day from the previously viewed rack at the local video store. Neither one of us had seen it, but she took a chance. It stares Harrison Ford, and Sharon Stone.

Basic story line.... city folk move from city to country.... buy house from bank that was taken during foreclosure... previous owner shows up, straight from jail..... previous owner terrorizes city folk.... previous owner had dumped his familiy in an old well before prison.... city folk outsmart previous owner, and kill him... the end

How do I put it nicely... LAME. Considering this movie was based in New York it kind of makes sense, especially with their gun laws in the city. When the Previous owner shows up IN THE HOUSE, Harrison just asks "can I help you?".. In the Great State of Texas (especially my house) all the previous owner would hear would be "SHINK SHUNK(chambering a shell in the ole boom stick) GET ON YOUR KNEES HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEAD!!!!" so the movie would've lasted maybe 10 minutes...

It just seemed too pansy a movie... unrealistic... just more hollywood brainwashing saying "its ok not to protect yourself, scuzballs have the right to tresspass and scare your familiy before you outwit him without a gun. Its wrong to put an end to the trouble the moment you discover the scuzball in your house"

I hate Hollywood sometimes.
