Another letter from a friend working at a Haiti orphanage...don't know if anyone finds this interesting or not, I thought it might be a neat view of life outside the USA...

Bon Jeur!  Co mo yea?  Mwen bien, merci!
Good Morning!  How are you?  I'm well, thank you!
Smile!
I'm really starting to understand Creole now!  Like when people are
talking I can pick up almost enough words to follow along!  It's really
fun!  And I'm getting more comfortable using it too!  It's great!  Too
bad I'm leaving in a month!

Well, It's definitely hot here!  I don't think "hot" at home will ever
feel that hot again!  I'm always sticky!  Definitely adds to the
difficulty of living here!  We hardly ever have ice cause we don't have
power for the freezer.....so....be thankful for AC and power!!!

Let's see....what's new......Oh yea!  We have 3 new babies!!!!  Yeah!!!
We are up to 8 kids now!
The first new one that came is Jefftay....he's about a year old and
weighs 13lbs and is 27 in long.  He's skin and bones!  Poor guy!  He's
finally eating!  Thank you Lord!  He has an incredibly sad story behind
him......He's about a year and starving to death and a woman that knows
the McHouls found him in a ravine.....like where they throw trash.....and
in Haiti they burn their trash......so this precious little life was
going to be burned up with the trash.....as if he was no more than
that.....trash....  And about a week before, there was another baby that
was thrown in the same place and was allowed to be eaten by a pig!  That
upset me so much!!!!!  Can you imagine!  Ugghh....it's just sick.....But
God saved little Jeff for a reason and we are doing our best to get him
to have emotions and become the fat little baby that he's supposed to be!

The next baby is Alexandra....they call her Ally for short!!!  I was so
honored!  lol  When John picked her up he thought she looked a little
handicapped and sure enough, she is.  She's about 2 and weighs 13lbs and
is 28 in long.  Very small for 2!  But even after 2 days we saw
improvement with her!  She will hold her head up and eat and is just more
content!  Her nanny, Marjorie, is excellent with her!  She makes her
stretch out her fingers and legs and arms and just constantly works with
her like that!  She has a gift that way!  We are hoping Marjorie can
somehow get into nursing school!  She would be excellent!

The newest baby is absolutely GORGEOUS!  He's about a year also and
weighs about 14-15 lbs.  He's a little healthier than the rest of the new
ones we've been getting!  And he's so cuddly!  He was more loved and
taken care of....the father just isn't in the picture anymore and the
mother just can't take care of him alone.  His name is Makenley.  His
eyes are to die for!  Huge with LONG eyelashes!  I'm so jealous!
So the house is filling back up!  I have 3 kids that now say "Ali" quite
frequently!  It's so fun!  Only one of them knows that it's my name but
hey!  It's fun anyway!

The baby Fritz that I told you about before.....the really tiny
one....he's really sick and just isn't getting better....I'm not sure
what they are going to do....We are a little leery about why the father
would want back his sick lil kid....I'll let you know what happens....but
so far he's not doing too well....so keep praying for him!

----------Finishing this letter a few days
later......................--------------------------------------------

The babies are finally starting to eat and gain some weight!  Yea!  I
hope I can see them get fat and spoiled!

Well, today I am going to the consolate with Junior because I left my
passport in my pocket one day and it went thru the wash....Ooops!  So we
just have to go and see if a new one needs to be made.  It looks a lil'
beat up but you can read ALL the information and everything...my pic's
still good...the stamps are still there...We'll see!  Hope it doesn't
take longer than 4 weeks to process if I need a new one!

My birthday here was a lot of fun!  Some of my new girl friends slept
over and then we went out to lunch and ice cream with about 10 of my
other new friends!  It was really nice!  Got all dressed up and just had
fun!  My family and Liz called me!!!  That was so nice!  They had me on
speaker phone and I heard them all laughing at me!  They said I have an
accent!  Wow!  I think it's because I am around accented English ALL the
time!  All my friends speak English, Creole and French so their English
is accented!  That's fun tho!  I always wanted an accent!  I'll probably
lose it right away tho!  My gramma and grampa called me too!  Good to
hear voices from home!

I'll be ready to come home in June.  I'm ready to get to work and then
off to the new chapter of life...MISSIONS COLLEGE!  Lord willing!
Thank you all for praying for me!

About 4 weeks!

In His Arms,
Allison
