Does anyone here have to do stuff at work that bothers them?  I noticed a struggling couple move into my storage unit that I'm managing.  They signed a lease saying that they have to give 30 days notice.  But they got an opportunity to move into their house much sooner than they thought, so they made a mad dash to be out by the first of the month.  Of course the lease says they have to give 30 days notice.  If I owned this property, I wouldn't make them pay.  If they had tons of money, I would but they don't so I wanted to just say, "okay. Good luck!"  Anyway, my manager told me that according to the lease they are responsible for this months rent.  Of course I had to call them and tell them that.  I don't own the property and it's not my business, but I would like to  call them after hours and tell them that we don't send things to the collection agency, so if the rent is going to dip into the grocery budget, I wouldn't pay.  I'm so tempted to tell them that they don't have to pay and they'll get away with it.

This happens alot around here.  The only thing is the old leases only had seven days notice in the lease.  So, then they're only responsible for seven days worth of rent.   Grin  So, I count the seven days and it's usually not that much.  The new leases show 30 days notice.  I don't like the terms of the lease.

What I'm finding out is there are alot of fine print terms that make people responsible for paying for stuff that technically, they didn't purchase.  I hate that.

Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you would include not finding your neighbor's biggest fault and then harping on it as if it were your mission.

Mat 22:17  Therefore tell us; what do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?
Mat 22:18  But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why do you tempt Me, hypocrites?
Mat 22:19  Show Me the tribute money. And they brought a denarius to Him.
Mat 22:20  And He said to them, Whose image and inscription is this?
Mat 22:21  They said to Him, Caesar's. Then He said to them, Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's.

But, i agree....it leaves a bad taste in one's mouth.
