“You Are Next”: J.K.Rowling Receives Death Threat From Supporter Of Salman Rushdie’s Alleged Attacker
By Caroline Frost
August 13, 2022 8:33am
Harry Potter creator JK Rowling has received a public threat from an Iran-backing extremist, following her denunciation of yesterday’s attack on fellow British author Salman Rushdie.
Rowling – who has previously been targeted by some trans activists for her beliefs on gender – had published a post expressing her horror at the attempt on Rushdie’s life, when one responder threatened her harm.
Rowling wrote on Friday night, “Horrifying news. Feeling very sick right now. Let him be ok.”
Meer Asif Aziz, described in his Twitter bio as ‘student, social activist, political activist and research activist’ responded, “Don’t worry you are next.”

*****Even though I have a serious dislike for the Harry Potter books and series in general, there is no excuse for attacking a author because of their books*****

As Fareed Zakaria condemns the attack on Salman Rushdie, here is what his father’s open letter said condemning the Satanic Verses
13 August, 2022
Following the brutal attack on Author Salman Rushdie during a program in New York, political commentator and author Fareed Zakaria condemned the incident labelling Rushdie as a “brilliant, brave man.” In a tweet quoting the news by The New York Times, he said, “I’m sickened by this ghastly attack. Salman is a brilliant, brave man – one of the greats. Hoping and wishing for good news.”
I’m sickened by this ghastly attack. Salman is a brilliant, brave man – one of the greats. Hoping and wishing for good news.
It is worth noting that while Zakaria has supported Rushdie, calling him brave and intelligent, his father had earlier criticised Rushdie’s work The Satanic Verses. Rafiq Zakaria, Fareed Zakaria’s father, was a politician and an Islamic preacher who issued an open letter condemning Salman Rushdie’s book and supporting the ban on it by the then Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi.

An Afghan Muslim Refugee Carried Out America’s Worst Islamophobic Killings
Mon Aug 15, 2022
Diversity is our strength so it couldn’t have been too shocking that an Afghan Muslim refugee was responsible for America’s single worst Islamophobic killing spree. Much as another Afghan, Omar Mateen, brutally carried out the single largest massacre of gay people in America.
Americans are generally fairly tolerant so liberals decided to import bigoted immigrant killers.
When the migrant surge began, politicians and the media assured us that Afghans would make profound contributions to America. They have already set two particularly ugly national records.
And that was bound to happen.

We cannot let enemies of free speech turn back the clock of human liberty. If Salman Rushdie can be silenced, so can we all, writes Booker Prize winning author BEN OKRI
By BEN OKRI FOR THE MAIL ON SUNDAY
PUBLISHED: 18:52 EDT, 13 August 20
Every intelligent person should be not just shocked but outraged at the attack on the writer Salman Rushdie.
He suffered up to 15 separate wounds – all knife stabs into the freedom of imagination and expression that keeps us human.
It is all the sadder that, after years of living as a fugitive, Salman had bravely started living as a normal citizen in the world. He could write books, find love and – seemingly – travel freely.
The Iranian fatwa issued on Rushdie in 1989 – effectively a death sentence – was a terrifying moment not just for the author, but the nation, too.
It seemed to catch us unawares. We were appalled at the idea that writing a novel could lead to death.
I remember profoundly the atmosphere of fear and confusion and the riots that followed the fatwa on him.
When it was announced, I was a young writer with four books published. I recall my sense of shock. Suddenly the act of writing was fraught with danger.

Rushdie attack recalls 1991 killing of his Japanese translator
Aug 14, 2022
The attack on Salman Rushdie in western New York state Friday prompted renewed interest in previous attacks on people connected to his 1988 novel, “The Satanic Verses,” including its Japanese translator, who was killed in 1991.
The translator, Hitoshi Igarashi, was stabbed to death at age 44 that July at Tsukuba University, northeast of Tokyo, where he had been teaching comparative Islamic culture for five years. No arrests were ever made, and the crime remains unsolved.
Igarashi had translated “The Satanic Verses” for a Japanese edition that was published after Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, then the supreme leader of Iran, had ordered Muslims to kill the Indian-born British writer over the book’s depiction of the Prophet Muhammad.

Australian held hostage by Taliban for three years returns to ‘celebrate’ Islamic rule
By Pamela Constable and Susannah George
August 14, 2022 — 1.35pm
Kabul: An Australian teacher who was kidnapped in Kabul by Taliban forces in 2016, then held hostage for three years before being released in an exchange deal with US officials, has returned, announcing that he planned to “celebrate” the upcoming first anniversary of Taliban rule.
Timothy Weeks, 53, arrived at Kabul’s international airport clad in a black tribal turban and white Afghan tunic. He told waiting journalists that he had first come to Afghanistan “with a dream to learn about Afghanistan, and now I’m coming again to complete my journey”.
Weeks, originally from Wagga Wagga, converted to Islam during more than three years in Taliban captivity and changed his name to Baar Muad Jibra’il after returning home. During his many months as a prisoner he “saw these people in a light that nobody else has been able to do”, he said.

Trump and Pompeo ‘Next’ for ‘Divine Revenge’ After Attack on ‘Apostate’ Rushdie: Iranian Media
14 Aug 2022
A newspaper under the control of Iran’s Supreme Leader has said that Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo could soon be “next” for “divine revenge” while celebrating the attack on “apostate” author Salman Rushdie.
President Donald Trump and former Secretary of State and CIA director Mike Pompeo should feel “threatened” as a result of the attack on “apostate” author Salman Rushdie, a newspaper under the control of Iran’s Supreme Leader has claimed, with the paper threatening that the two former U.S. officials could be “next” for “divine revenge”.
Having sustained serious injuries on Friday after being stabbed multiple times at an event in New York, British-American author Salman Rushdie had been marked for death by the Iranian regime for decades, with the country’s then supreme theocratic leader Ayatollah Khomeini calling for “Muslims of the world rapidly to execute the author and the publishers of the book” so that “no one will any longer dare to offend the sacred values of Islam.”

Worried about progressive Muslims as Salman Rushdie was not safe even in US: Tasleema Nasreen
August 13, 2022
Hours after Indian-born author Salman Rushdie was stabbed while attending an event at Chautauqua Institution in New York, exiled Bangladeshi author Tasleema Nasreen said she was worried about progressive Muslims across the globe, as Rushdie was not safe even in the United States amid high security.
“I am really worried. He has been living in the West since 1989, where he has high security. If he could be attacked, we, who are critical of Islam, could also be attacked. I am worried about the other free-thinkers too,” said the ‘Lajja’ author.

Exclusive: Distraught mother of alleged Iranian sympathizer accused of trying to murder Salman Rushdie says her son returned home as religious zealot after a month-long trip to the Middle East and says he is 'responsible for his actions'
14 August 2022
The distraught mother of the alleged Iranian sympathizer accused of trying to murder Salman Rushdie revealed how her outgoing, American-raised son took a month-long trip to the Middle East - and came back a religious zealot.
Silvana Fardos revealed in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com that she expected her son Hadi Matar to come back from the 2018 trip 'motivated,' but instead, her once outgoing and popular son returned a 'moody introvert' and would lock himself in the basement, refusing to speak to his family for months.
As FBI agents raided her Fairview, New Jersey home on Friday afternoon, it was the first she was learning of the frenzied stabbing of acclaimed author Rushdie.
Fardos said FBI agents seized a number of items from her son's basement apartment – including a computer, PlayStation, books, knives and a tool to sharpen blades.

UK: Rapist who ‘used Islam as an excuse’ for heinous crimes is jailed
August 10, 2022
A dangerous rapist who subjected his victim to an eight-month campaign of sexual and mental abuse has been jailed for 18 years by a judge who accused the offender of seeking “to use the peaceful religion of Islam as an excuse” for his behavior.
Faran Abbas, of Accrington in northwest England, had only known his victim for a few months before the abuse began. According to the prosecution during a trial at Preston Crown Court in May, “he controlled her, restricted access to her mobile telephone, prevented her from meeting her parents without him being there, and was violent towards her. None of this was her fault.
“She tried to do everything that she could to be good to him, and in return he did nothing but abuse her,” the prosecution added.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, kept a diary during the campaign of abuse in which she wrote: “He took and took from me until I no longer existed.”

"Nigeria Belongs To Muslims" - Islamic Cleric Supports Muslim-Muslim Presidency (Photos, Video)
An Islamic cleric has supported Muslim-Muslim presidency in Nigeria, IGBERETV reports.
He urged Muslims to get their voter’s card to vote for muslim to ensure a muslim governs Nigeria.
He said;
“Nigeria belongs to Muslims. We will test the Muslim Muslim ticket so the world will believe after we’ve defeated them in the elections.” “No matter how bad the Muslim is, he is still better than an infidel (Christian)”

Fatah praises shooting of pregnant woman and 7 others: “Praise to the one whose rifle only speaks against his enemy!”
Aug 14, 2022
In three posts on its official Facebook page, Fatah – headed by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas – hurried to endorse and praise the terrorist and his shooting attack carried out last night in Jerusalem. But more than that, Fatah also encouraged additional attacks, urging Palestinians to “save your bullets and use them against the occupation (i.e., Israel).”
Terrorist Amir Sidawi, who later turned himself in to Israeli Police, wounded 8 people including a 35-year-old pregnant woman who was seriously injured. She underwent an emergency C-section delivery, and both she and the baby are in critical condition at the time of writing.
US Ambassador Tom Nides tweeted that he was “deeply saddened to confirm that Americans were injured” in the attack. However, Amb. Nides has not condemned Fatah’s praising of the terror attack that injured the Americans, which would be expected since the US supports and is in close contact with Fatah and PA leader Mahmoud Abbas.

US State Department set to grant visa to Iranian president for UN speech amid assassination plots
August 15, 2022
Under pressure to deny an entry visa to Iran’s president, the U.S. State Department says it must uphold its commitments to the United Nations under its arrangement as the host country.
Seven Republican senators sent a letter on Aug. 2 to U.S. President Joe Biden urging him to deny visas for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation to attend the U.N. General Assembly in September. Raisi is scheduled to speak at the event.
A State Department spokesperson told JNS that it is “generally obligated under the United Nations Headquarters Agreement to facilitate travel” by U.N. member representatives. The spokesperson added: “We take our obligations under the U.N. Headquarters Agreement seriously. At the same time, the Biden administration has not and will not waver in protecting and defending all Americans against threats of violence and terrorism.”

The Real Reason This Texas Man Killed His Daughters
Tue Aug 16, 2022
It was back on New Year’s Day 2008 that Yaser Said brutally murdered his two daughters, Amina, 18, and Sarah, 17, in Irving, Texas. On Tuesday, he was finally convicted of capital murder and received an automatic life sentence. But throughout the trial and all the coverage it received, it was clear that virtually no one is willing to tell the truth about why Said killed his daughters, or to face the unpleasant reality that murders of this kind could quite easily happen again in America.
According to Fox News, prosecutor Lauren Black said at the trial that Said was “obsessed with possession and control.” No doubt he was. Fox also tells us that “in a letter written to the judge, Said wrote that he was not happy with his daughters’ ‘dating activity’ but he denied killing them.” Also, “in a Dec. 21, 2007, email that was brought into evidence, Amina Said told a teacher that she and her sister planned to run away. She said they didn’t want to live by the culture of their father, who was born in Egypt, nor did they want arranged marriages, as he planned. Her father, she said, had ‘made our lives a nightmare. He will, without any drama nor doubt, kill us,’ the email read.” So the picture was painted of a hyper-possessive and controlling father who disliked his daughters dating, as he had arranged marriages for them, and who had apparently actively threatened them. And all this had to do with Yaser Said’s Egyptian culture.
That’s all true, but it isn’t the whole truth. Also incomplete and misleading was a New York Post article from August 1, when the trial was about to begin, which reported that “friends and family said Said was unhappy that his teenage daughters were dating.” Dallas’ WFAA likewise missed the mark when it reported that “police believed he became jealous and obsessed because the girls both dated American boys.”
