Jesus after his death
«

I have been trying to figure out why his disciples did not recognize him after rising from the dead. This did not happen to just one but many of them. I was taught it was because his body was glorified but what exactly does this mean? He still evidently traveled in public (maybe) and must not have been visibly scared from the torture prior to being placed on the cross. This is probably a dumb thing to ponder but it makes me curious.

1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
I imagine his countenance (look) was changed somewhat. As for the scars of his death he will have some because of the prophecy where they say that They shall look on him whom they pierced... and of course Thomas tested that out.

glorified
to render (or esteem) glorious (in a wide application): - (make) glorify (-ious), full of (have) glory, honour, magnify.
A primitive root; to gleam, that is, (causatively) embellish; figuratively to boast; also to explain (that is, make clear) oneself; denominatively from H6288, to shake a tree: - beautify, boast self, go over the boughs, glorify (self), glory, vaunt self.

Maybe He simply didn't want them to.

I do not know which verse you speak to precisely, but at the following verses, they did not recognized Him, because He with held their eyes from recognizing Him.
Lk 24
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But
their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
KJV
John the Apostle even says, Jesus blinds the eyes, and hardnes the hearts of all who do not see, nor believe nor undestand, seeing He is the ONE who gives these things to whomsoever He wills. (John 12:36-41, NIV)
In the end it is the Father who reveals ther Son and the Son reveals the Father to whomsoever He Wills to reveal Him to. (Mat 11:27)
Blessings,

He was recognized by these two at Lk 15, utimately, when their eyes were opened;
30
And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31
And their eyes were opened,
and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
No doubt they saw His nail pireced hands when He hand them bread after breaking it.
