I'm not trying to start a debate...

I was just wondering who here has things like crosses, religious rings, T-shirts, posters, pictures, that sort of thing. Adornments, I think I'd call them (thats a nice word, eh?)

So what have you got?

A fish, several crosses, etc. (Jewelry.) I don't generally use the Tshirts, but I did receive a couple as gifts so I do wear those. And of course my wedding ring has a lot of religious significance in its design, although no one knows that unless I explain it to them.

For myself, I have a ring with "Jesus, keep me safe" written on it in Russian, a cross made out of icons (also from Russia - my dad has been visiting there a lot lately), and my grandmother's rosary.

Oh, and a plain cross on a necklace that I sometimes wear.

That's neat-I like the idea of having an inscribed ring like that. That would be a good thing for our guys in the military to have, too.

Here in the sixties during the Vietnam war, people were engraving and distributing prayer bracelets with the names of prisoners of war. About 7 years ago a friend of mine showed me hers. I can't remember where she got it from; she was still wearing it.

I’m not one for Christian Commercialism. I do own a hand made cross a friend gave me, which is my trademark necklace. Other then that, I’m clena of any kind of “Christian” apparel.

To be brutally honest, I think it is kind of tacky... Undecided

I do have one tee that has a picture of the knees of jeans that are worn out that says; "Pray without Ceasing" that I wear with.... you guessed it; my favorite pair of jeans that have the knees missing!  Grin

Wow, Whitehorse, a POW bracelet.  I sure remember them.

I tend to agree with Tibby here.  The commercialism.

I don't wear much of any adornment--no "signs" whatsoever.

I'm thinking about onestarfisher's posts here though.  'Really liking her ideas.

And, I'm casual most all the time.  So just painting  short slogans, or a scripture verse, or a reference would be simple, tastefully hand-lettered.  No cutesy ornamentation, or adornment; but slogans that just say something.

I like Early57's verse a whole lot, from Luke 2:  "Unto us a child is given..."   Maybe the whole verse.

It doesn't really "challenge"--at least confrontationally--certainly doesn't judge or condemn; on the contrary, suggests instead a nice "ray" of sunshine.  I might just paint that on my clothes.

So far I'm really liking that idea.  But I'm self-employed, so I wear what I like.  If you're an employee, it's a little different.

NIce question, though, Broken.  Thank you.

I wear one of these, when it goes with my outfit --->   †
That's about it, though.

I do have my dad's rosary as a rememberance, a token, but that's not what I consider jewellery at all. It's just something that was dad's....didn't even mean anything to him.

I quite agree about the commercialism - some of the stuff I've seen in the Christian bookshop near me....ugh. Thats why the stuff I've got tends to be unusual/good cause. In other words: the money goes to an individual church rather than to a commercial company - I'm all in favour of giving money to little churches, which is why I buy so many bookmarks and bits and pieces off them. Thats where my icons and that ring I have came from - a small church in Moscow. Apparently.

I have a couple great Tshirts that praise the Lord on it. I dont have any jewelry per say. Although, that ring sounds very neat. I have 2 Bumper stickers (not very big) on the back of my car that says Jesus <//>< and another one that says: Jesus The Way, The Truth, The Life.
Im not into the whole crucifictions necklaces or wall plaques. Thats just me. Like some of the other post, there is too much Jesus commercializing (just my opinon). I refer to Keith Greens Book No Compromise when he said ppl were just using the Lords name to do nothing more then sell items like ashtrays with the Jesus Saves & even condoms that says Jesus saves! I mean to me, that is sick.
I do like the WWJD bracelets. I enjoy seeing the young kids wearing them in school & Not being embarrassed to love Jesus. But I do agree, some of the items have gone a little far.

I have a tee that has HeavenlyDivineSon to look like a HarlyDavidson Tee.  Sleeves are missing and there is the Vee that I cut into the neck.

Another Tee is the BaseBall player pointing to the fence and saying "This ones for the Lord"

The reason I'm into wall stuff is just because I really like the icons - they're beautiful, some of them. I used to have a print of that wonderful Dali painting, Christ of St John of the Cross - just amazing. I saw the painting once, and its better than the print because its enormous.

I'd been looking for a ring for a while, because I've looked at the T-shirts and all that, but I don't like the ones I've seen. They tend to be tacky (maybe its just the UK?) and remind me of the vicars with guitars (shudder) or very catholic and so just look fashionable. Which is beside the point. But a ring, I thought looked good - but I never found one. My dad quite by chance came back with a nice one - no big sticky out crosses or fishes that make you look like you're wearing knuckle-dusters, very simple. And a conversation piece  Grin

If, by some miracle, I get a digital camera that works, I'll show you a picture sometime.

I asked for a silver cross on a silver chain for Christmas but didn't get one.  Sad

I once considered having a cross tattooed over my heart - but then, since Jesus is already in my heart, I decided it was repetitious.  Smiley
