Someone asked me about DeVinche (sp) and I'm not familiar with the person or subject. Anybody know who this is and what he's about?

Who was Leonardo da Vinci?
He had a keen eye and quick mind that led him to make important scientific discoveries, yet he never published his ideas.
He was a gentle vegetarian who loved animals and despised war, yet he worked as a military engineer to invent advanced and deadly weapons.
He was one of the greatest painters of the Italian Renaissance, yet he left only a handful of completed paintings

Not Leonardo, some deVinche guy that wrote some book about the birth of Christ? Something new and modern that I'll probably hate. Thanks anyways.

I believe its a fictional book that depicts Jesus being married to mary magdaline (shudder).   I really don't know anything about it other than that....and don't care to.  I think we all know where these sort of ideas come from.

da Vinci was also commissioned to build a great war horse in war stance. There were numerous changes made to the design by the person who commissioned it. I think it was somewhere in the neighborhood of seven years before the design was complete, and da Vinci had the horse sculpted in clay, and was ready to make the horse. But then all his metal was confiscated for the war effort, and by the time the war was over, the one who commissioned it was no longer in power. The designs disappeared.

Then, in the 1960s, someone found the design buried in the basement of a museum, or library, was it, in Spain. So a man decided to remake the horse and give it to Italy as a gift. But his design was found to be very different from what da Vinci had planned, and not at all in the style of the time period. So American artist Nina Akamu was asked to make the horse, and I believe it was 1999 when the horse was dedicated in Vinci. A twin horse was made for the United States, and is open for view in the garden park named after the man who paid to have the horses made. Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, MI.

Are you referring to the Da Vinci code, by Dan Brown? I have it in my room, haven't read it yet. Basicly, it is your run of the mill Mason cover-up conspiracy theory kind of book. You know, where the Christians are covering up some dark secret, and the only person who is good is some Rogue preist or scholar. That is what I can gather, one of those types of books.

P.S. It totally thrashes Church history, that is, our heritage over the past 2000 years.
