Hi guys.
How does one answer such a ridiculous post I read on another site? I answered this person but I think you guys could do a better job than I did.
Looking forward to your comments.

How to Know You are Saved
http://www.bayviewbc.org/salvation.html

A. As simple as it is to be saved, it is a very confusing issue in the minds of many Christians. Many Christians honestly believe that a person cannot know he is saved until he dies. That is False!! You can know you are saved before you die.

B. The Word of God provides the best evidence of Salvation. (Rom. 10:9; I John 5:13) Through the scriptures, we are made "wise unto salvation" (II Tim. 3:15). Salvation is predicated on the Word of God. The only assurance that the thief on the cross had of his salvation was the Lord's word (Luke 23:43).

C. Our salvation is as sure as God's Word. The Psalmist recognized the immutability of God's Word and said, "Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven" (Psalms 119:89) God has given us His word that He will save us if we believe (John 3:16; Acts 16:30,31; Romans 10:9)

Salvation is a one-time experience. You are saved now and for all eternity (John 10:28; Romans 5:8,9, 8:38,39; Phil. 1:6) The joy of your salvation will intensify if you will share witness God's simple plan with others. Share in the plan of salvation with others that they may also be saved.

Dear Brothers and Sister in Christ,

You have read this Biblical ‘proof’ here from this protestant site that declares (in summary now) that if you believe in Christ Jesus, you are saved. This whole concept has no Biblical basis whatsoever. For some of you this may come as a shock! Others this may be old news. Regardless this is the case. For starters both Romans 10:9 and Acts 15:30 state (roughly) that if you believe in Christ you will be saved. At this point I’m sure the protestants are scratching their heads in confusion. Is this a point blank statement? What is this  fellow talking about? Look carefully at Romans 10:9 (“That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you WILL be saved.”) and Acts 16:31 (“They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you WILL be saved--you and your household." (Capital letters are my own). Take careful note of this! It reads you WILL be saved not you ARE saved! As for 1 John 5:13 (I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.) it just states the fact that the human soul is immortal. John 10:28 Talks about those who will be saved at the end of the world. Romans 5:8,9 has nothing to do with being ‘saved right away by belief’– just talks about God’s love for us and those who will be saved and how they will be treated at the end. Romans 8:38,39 and Philippians 1:6 have nothing to do with being ‘saved right away by belief’. On the last day we will be judged by Christ how we spend these immortal lives of ours: shall it be spent in eternal death (Hell) or eternal life (Heaven and the New Earth, The Kingdom of God)? No one human, save Christ Jesus, knows who shall be saved. Enough already with this heresy.

Possibly a bit of confusion going on between the two different ways scripture looks at eternal life.

John went in for realised eschatology - the Kingdom was NOW, eternal life was NOW, everything was happening NOW and SOON too.

The rest of the NT does not. Its a difference in looking at things.

Thats really just the thoughts I have on this topic Smiley

Never.

Hell might afford my miseries a shelter;
Therefore Hell keeps her ever-hungry mouths all
Bolted against me.
