JCTV Fall Lineup Brings Best of Music, Talk, Reality Programming, and More

LOS ANGELES, (christiansunite.com) -- What's cool, edgy, fun, and the most exciting inspirational television network for teens and young adults? It's JCTV, and its new fall program lineup is already getting rave reviews from viewers across the nation and around the world. As TV's premier faith-based youth network, JCTV is where 13- to 29-year-old viewers turn for the best in contemporary Christian music, extreme actions sports, relevant talk, reality shows, compelling dramas, and more.

Since its launch in 2003, JCTV has gained a solid reputation for its edgy and entertaining programming that inspires and challenges young people in their faith. "From day one we've put a high priority on making sure everything we air on JCTV is at the top in both content and production," said JCTV's program director Mark McCallie. "We put a lot of effort into developing high-end programs keyed to what's relevant for youth, and that gives us a cutting edge with our core audience."

McCallie said network staff are particularly excited about JCTV's Fall 2009 program lineup because of the unique variety it brings. "We've added some new music programs that bring viewers face-to-face with the best contemporary Christian bands and artists, along with fresh issues programs relevant to teens, compelling dramas, and new renditions of one of our most popular reality shows. We've already had some great feedback." The new fall shows on JCTV include:

One Music Village. Take the best bands in contemporary Christian music, add some edgy new artists who are making waves in the industry, give each one their own stage and venue every week, and you've got the makings of a hit music extravaganza called One Music Village. This JCTV exclusive weekly show features such music veterans as the Newsboys and Seventh Day Slumber, along with fresh, new talent like rapper Mr. Del, Iowa based Indie band Bread of Stone, and Canadian singer/songwriter Matt Brouwer. Each week's program is a mini-concert, featuring a band or artist who hosts the program and showcases a handful of tunes from their latest project.

Cruise With a Cause. Now in its third season on JCTV, this exciting reality show takes viewers on a Caribbean adventure that combines the full-tilt fun of a vacation cruise with the spiritual intensity of a short- term mission trip. Cameras roll 24-7 as a20ship full of Christians and the shows hosts combine fun and frolic with serious ministry around the island nation of the Bahamas. Joining the more than 2,000 cruise participants as they share the gospel at schools, prisons, and outdoor rallies are Josh McDowell, Paula White, Andrae Crouch, the Crabb Family, Donnie McClurkin, Larnelle Harris, Mary Mary, Sonicflood, and many more.

Off the Record. Popular JCTV host Brandon Crouch checks in each week with musicians, missionaries, emergency relief workers, and ministries all over the world as they reach out to individuals, families, communities, and nations with the hope of the gospel. "At JCTV we want to do more than just offer viewers entertaining music and inspirational programming," said Crouch. "We want to challenge a generation that there is a world in need of hope and healing. On Off the Record, we'll use the latest in technology from Skype to Twitter and every social networking site in between, to meet up with people across the globe who have a real passion for Christ and the Kingdom of God."

Edge TV. In a culture where moral absolutes are at a minimum, young people need advice that will give them the edge they need for a life of vital faith. That's what Edge TV is all about. With peer hosts and a format teens can relate to, Edge TV tackles crucial questions young people face on every level of life: What's my purpose? How do I forgive those who mistreat me? What's wrong with pre-marital sex? How can I get along with my parents? It's emotional, hard- hitting, sensitive, life-changing. From anger, racism, and addictions to abuse, violence, fear, and loneliness, Edge TV deals with issues relevant to teens and young adults.

Walk on Water. In this exciting new TV drama series, several college-bound young adults spend their summer together at the beach. See how their contrasting views interface and how they deal with important life issues.

McCallie noted that in addition to the fresh line-up for fall, JCTV is adding new episodes of the shows that have made it one of the top youth networks. "We have bran d-new installments of TV One Life, Real Videos, Top Three, and other programs that are consistent viewer favorites," he said. "For music, entertainment, extreme sports, reality shows, and more, JCTV continues to be the number-one inspirational network for teens and young adults."
