A Christmas Prayer

On the pine, the lights were strung,
On the cross, my Saviour hung,
Colorful gifts lay beneath the tree,
Just think, Eternal Life is free,
Joyous warmth spread over the lands,
But I remember His nail-scarred hands.

I watch a child's happy face,
Love is why God gave His Grace,
Bless the children of the world,
May they resist the evils hurled,
Little ones, come unto Him,
May you live in Light, not darkness, dim.

Some, the fortunate of this earth,
Are warm and fed before the hearth,
Others want for food and breath,
Young soldiers close their eyes in death,
Keep their souls so safe and sound,
That when death comes, they're Glory bound.

Seek those out in pleasures vain,
Those who worship selfish gain,
Those who take and thank for none,
Those without the Gift of God's Son,
Soon they'll fill a sinner's grave,
So share the News, the promises God gave.

Looking forward to the City of Light,
Safe and secure by God's Holy Might,
Walking forward to that pearly gate,
Leaving behind this world of hate,
Seeing the sparkling streets of gold,
Living for Him with lives so bold.

Listen to the angels sing,
Voices raised to God, the King,
See the King upon the Throne,
Peace and Joy none have known,
Delivered from all pain and sorrow,
Just more joy on each tomorrow.

Many forget who gives us each day,
Many have followed the forsaken way,
Worldly are their earthly hours,
Forgotten are His Mighty Powers,
Some who serve only themselves,
Bibles lay on dusty shelves.

Rejoice in His Spirit every day,
Remember The Saviour who died that day,
Give thanks to God hour by hour,
Salvation by His Love and Power,
He lives today for you and me,
Believe, and Glory you shall see.

Thanks, Tom.

That says it as it should be, 365/24/7.
Not just a couple of days a year.
