A Lady Named Irena Sendler

February 15, 1910 – May 12, 2008

Recently a 98-year-old lady named Irena Sendler died.

During WWII, Irena got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an ulterior motive.

Being German, she KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews. Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she also carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger children).

She also had a dog in the back of the truck that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers, of course, wanted nothing to do with the dog, but the barking covered the children/infants noises.

During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs and arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the children she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her backyard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the families. Most, of course, had been gassed.

Those children she helped were placed into foster family homes or adopted out.

Last year, Irena was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The story goes that she LOST the Nobel Peace Prize that Al Gore won for doing a slide show on the non-existent Global Warming.

Irena Sendler was a woman that loved Jesus Christ and tried to do what she thought He would have her to do. I am sure that she is receiving her appropriate reward.

What a wonderful story with a couple of sad things in the end...1) It is sad that Al Gore won over her.  2) It is sad it took them this long to even get her name up there.

Did he win over her? Think about it for a minute. She loved the Lord. Al Gore worships Gaia. She saved the lives of many children. The policies of Al Gore and his cohorts have caused the lives of many and will most likely cause many more in the near future.

Mat 6:19  Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

This is definitely a story that makes you think, especially about how warped and sad this world is. YES - Irena Sendler will be recognized by GOD, and this is millions of times better than being recognized by men. Nothing in the story indicates that she was seeking recognition from anyone, so she was risking her life because of Christian convictions that she should try and save the lives of those babies.

I love this contrast when we think about the abortion practices of today. Irena Sendler was willing to give her life to save the lives of babies. They were precious to her and she knew that they were precious to GOD.

Amen on both accounts.  And I agree completely.  She is much better off than Al is at the moment.
