Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Who was standing there?Who has not yet tasted death?

I'm not sure,but its possible in a sense that Jesus may have been referring to seeing the firm establishing and taking root of Christianity on earth within the lifespan of some of those around him.

I believe C.I. Scofield has interpreted this verse correctly in that he indicates that the transfiguration , which took place six days after that proclamation by the Messiah, was a "miniature" manifestation of Christ's coming in power and great glory, and those who were with Him (Peter, James and John) saw a glimpse of His glory on the mount of transfiguration before they "tasted death".   Here is Scofield's note in brief:

"The transfiguration scene contains, IN MINIATURE, all the elements of the future kingdom in manifestation: (1) The Lord, not in humiliation, but in glory...(2) Moses, glorified, representative of the redeemed who have passed through death into the kingdom...(3) Elijah, glorified, representative of the redeemed who have entered the kingdom by translation... (4) Peter, James, and John, not glorified, representatives (for the moment) of Israel in the flesh in the future kingdom... (5) The multitude at the foot of the mountain (v.14) representative of the nations who are to be brought into the kingdom after it is established over Israel..." (pp 1022-23).
